i agree, when i ride in my buddys Corvette, nobody even looks at it or gives it any attention. Even in yellow. It just doesnt have that "exotic" look. Performs well though!

Saying the ZR1 performas like a supercar is WAY different than saying any Vette looks like a supercar, they just don't. When i think Supercar or exotic i think Lamborgini LP670 or Gallardo Superleggera, or Ferrari 458 Italia or 599GTO. The Ford GT is the only domestic I would really consider even close to an exotic. It had a distinct look, a rather exotic powertrain for it's time and that aw factor the Vettes just lack.Designwise the Vette hasn't really change much in the last 13 years since the C5 was introduced.

When I see a Ford GT roll down the street, I stop..stare and want to chase it to see it.

When I see a Corvette go down the street..I just go "oh..a Vette.."

The Corvette isnt an exotic. The ZR1 performs like a supercar..but it isnt an exotic.

I never see a GT 40. I would if I saw one out somewhere.

The GTs are uber sharp going down the road. You would be surprised what you see here because of all the coal millionaires. The occasional Ferarri or Lambo is not unheard of. Saw a Gallardo Roadster, newer model, a few months ago and damn it was sexy. Of course i think at least of the Corvette production for the east coast ends up here hahaha.

The zr1 is definitely not an exotic. Exotics are flashy enough for people who don't know cars to see them and go, "woah, what is that?" It's for sure a bad ass car though.

saw a DB9 and chased it down just to look at it. the vette could be made into an exotic.

it needs an exotic drivetrain.
it needs exotic bodywork.
the brand(corvette) needs to be remade into an elite brand.
they need to make 500 a year.

the level of technology needs to be cutting edge, or have a pedigree of high technology. a saleen S7 qualifies in most aspects. but it still falls short. it more than a 7 liter turbo that makes an exotic.

Make the vette into a Zonda/ferrari/lambo and we'll talk. even being the fastest most powerful doesnt make an exotic. a gallardo makes way less power than a ZR1, but its an exotic not the vette.

My definition of an exotic car is one where you do not go into a showroom and buy one, but where you are selected by the manufacturer to have the privilege of buying one or have to be on a waiting list just to get that chance.

A supercar, however, is a car that has awesome performance, but could be purchased from any dealer showroom. The ZR1, IMHO, fits into the latter category.

I don't consider the ZR1 an exotic.

Just hard to call a corvette an exotic.

Fastest recorded times for the R/T are @ 13.1? I would not consider that commonplace.

If 13.1 is the fastest time for the R/T than mid 13's would be the norm IMO.
I dont see why you challenger guys are always whining about the mid 13 second mag runs. All I hear is that they will run stronger than what is portrayed in the mags....well whats new? this is the same for any car....it is not any worse for the challenger.

The camaro has hit 12.5 stock and I dont complain when it runs 12.9-13.1 in almost all the mags. The challenger has hit 13.1 stock...it runs mid to high 13's in some rags....sounds like a very accurate portrayal if you ask me.

The thing is that more auto R/Ts are hitting the low 13 mark than not. And show me ONE magazine that has tested an R/T with the well known to be quicker, automatic?
