Tuning for Dummies....

Hi, my name is Mike and I am a "Tuning Dummy"...

I'd like to learn the "basics" of tuning. I don't intend on tuning my car, but since my car is getting tuned, I like to learn more about the tuning process (fuel trims, knock retard, timing, dependencies within the tuning process, how o2 sensors can affect the tuning process, etc).

Sort of looking for a high level explaination of the tuning process from beginning to end. Does anyone know what a good web resource would be to learn the basics of tuning? I've done searches on specific items, such as fuel trim, knock retard, etc, but since I don't know what all of the components there are in tuning, I can't get the whole picture.

Thanks,

Mike

Reading the HP Tuners forum (same goes for the EFI Live forum) can tell you a lot. Otherwise, you're probably stuck buying books and what not.

Yes the HP & EfI Sites are good.
I also have a good book at home from Amazon. About $20.
Will post up Title and Author this weekend.

It's a long, contrived process to explain. PM me and I will respond with a write-up I did on a local forum about the basics of PCM tuning if you're interested.
