I think the intention is good, but if I were to do a stripe like this, I would make the corners flow better with rounded edges. I think I would also have a pinstripe on the outside of the stripe just like the one that's on the inside.

You should definitely get whatever appeals to you, that's what makes it yours.
I agree with some that they are "too square", though I think the problem is more that it doesn't flow well. I liked them better by just bringing them down to the edge of the hood. Still just as square, but works better with the lines. (I think) |

I designed my own stripes & had them made. They're very similar to the ones you're working on.

I kinda like them as they are different. But, not for me though. Not really a stripe kind of cat.
