Thank you for serving our country. :flag2:

If you check Corvette Forum.com, there is a C6 forum labeled: Dealer Inventory. These guys are selling Camaros as well as Corvettes. Some of them do 90% of their business on the Internet.

Here's the one in the Montanna. Closest forum dealer to Colo.

My goal: Under promise and OVER DELIVER!

Lowest GM Protection Plan Prices on the Internet for All Makes & Models!

406-628-4618 Ext 103

Email me here: kenfichtner@fichtnerchevrolet.com

Ken has a Stirling reputation on Corvette Forum.

They either get the local dealer to do a courtesy delivery, or ship the car if in stock.

Seems like you're a little busy right now, and may need someone with a large allocation who specializes in online, long-distance transactions.

I think Camaro5 member Camaro Scotty might have some available too.

I agree. I understood it as we can order as much as we want but we will only get so much at first. I dont think the salesmen came off harsh but as someone who knows what he wants the guy didnt come off as bad either. I just think it was a miscommunication.

Unfortunately the typical car salesman/woman has painted a bad rap for the good people like me. I am very honest in my dealings here at the dealership and envision a sale with every customer. I do the little things for every customer and spent many months learning from Carl Sewell, the owner of Lexus, Infiniti, Cadillac and GMC of Dallas how to make a customer for life. Sometimes people don't like how detail oriented I am and just want things now now now. When a customer askes me about a new car, I send them the invoice over the email - I see no harm in that.

I am paid in a different fashion than how other dealerships pay their internet guy, or so I have been told. I make a base pay $2,000 a month, and $100 per new car I sell, $50 per used and $25 if somebody shows up for an appointment. Most people are paid off gross profit. Trust me, my boss has kicked me a55 for selling Aveo at invoice, when after bonus, the dealership takes a $120 profit, but I do volume and make a nice living for myself.

I come from the mortgage business, where I handled millions of dollars in assets for people, their homes. I had a great reputation doing that. If I was successful handling assets, I am sure I can make a great car deal.

To the best of my knowledge, your dealer is wrong. Search out stuff about allotments from Fbodfather.

However a BIG question I have is - Aren't you in the Internet sales department?? Why do you have a customer coming into your office?? Your Internet Customer should be your TOP priority.

well in my case i ordered online from a dealer about 45 minutes away then went in a few days later for another conversation and to sign some paperwork.

Not to get off topic...but I searched and didn't find anything about new options available in June...IE HUD?

So, where is this info and where is the link?

"Allocation only counts for cars that are meant for stock. Allocation is for Corvettes." What?
"If I had a customer that wants 30, we could sell 30." What?

First, an incorrect statement, then maybe a little arrogance?!? Not a good way to impress a customer. But hopefully you guys can still do business.

And, GraySteele, with, I believe, only 15,000 allocations through Q3 '09, at this point you're gonna need a "fill-in" vehicle of some sort. Good luck, and thanks for being there for all of us still here in the world!!!

Q: To the OP on your original question...do you need to find another dealer.

A: No.

Granted, the salesman was not open and honest about his allocation like all other dealerships I have dealt with. But, he is willing to make the deal and make you a happy customer. I imagine he has 100's of internet conversations weekly and there are probably a LOT of people who have no idea what they are talking about. I can see it very much like a newb on our boards here asking about headlights..."Are you serious! Feed him to the fish!"
This is why WE need to try to be on our best behavior for all our newbs when they ask questions. If you don't want to answer, don't. If you want to leave a link, go for it. If you want to HELP, then do it!

But...I know you feel as though he should answer your every question. I feel he was wrong in not answering the allocation and saying that he can do 30 pre-orders. Sure, he can...but the last 21 of 30 might not see their cars for a long time. That, IMO, shouldn't have been said. Sure, I'd bet he wants to get 30 pre-orders down on paper so he hopes GM will send them his way. But, all in all, he came clean and let you know....In THAT conversation....when he could have let you go.

He apologized. He will sell at MSRP. He has 6 spots left. I'd say...give the guy your business and get better aquaited by dropping by his dealership. Just my .02.

I agree.

The guy at Parkland Chevy seems to be trying to work with the buyer. The buyer seems to need a car at a certain date that no dealer can honestly promise or even give a close guess at. GM never said that orders will be filled in the order they were recieved. They said production starts in February and you get it when you get it.

The buyer also seems to want to run away to go find a dealer that will tell him what he wants to hear (true or not). The sales person probably figured this out during the internet converstion and responded apropriately and politely. He sized up the customer and probably figured it was time to move on (did he figure right? ) He also has left the door open for further discussion, as he should.

Why NOT buy a car from that guy? He seems to be working harder and more up front than a LOT of dealers out there.

-Mark.
