No you misunderstand me, The manuel camaro ss wieghs 3860lbs, if all Chevy did was trow the LSA engine in it, it will probaly go north of 4,000 lbs.

A Direct injection LS7 would be sick.

The LS7 is dead after this year. It's a great motor, but it is just about the pinnacle of where we can go with a naturally aspirated, non-direct injection small block V8. That, and it is way too expensive to make. That's why the LS3 is so great, it has versatility. Each LS7 had to be hand built.

By the way, I'm still miffed at why everyone thinks the Z/28 has to have OMGWFTBBQ power. Can't it just be an SS with an RPO code Z/28 that includes special vinyl/paint, interior packages and badges, and maybe an intake/exhaust combo and suspension package?

that would be true to the times... take a package that actually meant something & turn it into an appearance package w/ benefits.

I think you're being a little hard on his suggestion Zebra. 1st Gen Z28's were touring cars with less power. Some would argure that Bowtie's description would be true to the original.

my comment was more of a bash on special packages in general, but you do have a good point.

Seems like to me the SS would be a better model then a Z/28. Thats how its been for years so if they bring the Z back then wouldnt the SS be the more powerfull one like the past(wich is what you want right?)? For those that want a Z/28 just buy the base model SS and put some Z/28 badges on it. The Z/28 was just a V8 Camaro without the bells and whistles of the SS...

You might want to read the some of this thread before you suggest adding badges to an SS..... Scott's quote in my sig may help you see my meaning...

We aren't saying we want it now. We're still just saying we want it someday. Whenever GM decides to bring it back. What we aren't willing to live with is the permanent death of the Z28. That just won't do...

I gotcha.....the market has slipped about 6000 points just since this thread started though...

Kinda weird.

Passion is good.
