which boost a pump for a maggie?

I am getting the maggie with 3.6 pulley and LT headers on soon and i would like to get a boost a pump for my setup. I see there are two out there, the kenne bell and MSD system. which system is better, easiest to install and reliable?

I m not sure which one to get.

We have been using the new MSD programmable boost a pump and we have gotten the same reliability out of it as the kenne bell, with the added benefits of its programing, its our BAP of choice.

Why no Wire upgrade to the battery, Seems like a lot of load for the stock wiring back to the fuse box, increasing the fuse size has me concerned.

MSD draws all it's power directly from the battery with 12 Gauge Wire.

I have used the KB with Success, I am not knocking it I am asking tech questions.

i am concerned of other people using the KB and blowing the fuses. the solution i have seen is add a bigger fuse.

To me this seems like a patch job and by adding a bigger fuse you are increasing the risk of melting the smaller wires because of the resistance put on the wire.

I want to get the best system without having to worry about melting my wires or shorting out my computer on the car....

KB's are proven. We've already had 3 MSD's fail this year. I hate MSD products. Haven't had a KB fail in the last 8 years we've used them.

As for the bigger wire - just run one,no big deal. Any kit we run a 10 gauge feed for the pump and upgrade the ground(which we know is just as/or more important than the feed)

Maybe an installation Problem we have installed over 100 of them with ZERO issues.

As far as MSD products I have been running them for over 28 years with Minimal failures and I continue to use them in everything I own.

Ted I am with you on this, MSD has proven solid for us over the last 10 years as well. KB has never treated us wrong either.

I'm glad to be able to read up on good and bad of both units. We know both have good track records and maybe installation has been a deciding factor in reliability. MAYBE.

But, I have a question to round off the final decision (since one day I will be upgrading as well).

Can both companies please respond with a price for their boost a pump. I'd like to compare in one thread with all other info.

Ted, I'm glad you have such good luck with them.We haven't and the shop I worked for before that did mustangs have nothing but problems with MSD product from a ton of 6AL boxes,coils and distibutors. We have 10 bad MSD/LS1 coils sitting here. As for wiring,we're pretty decent and being a master Electrician / Control work for 1 of the biggest banks in the world , I will go out on the limb it's not install problems.Guess we just have bad luck.
