Injen Power-Flow CAI

I think I already know the answer, but is the Injen Power-Flow CAI the best CAI for the money? I read the comparison testing thread and the only one that beat the Injen was Cold Air Inductions which is $399, while the Injen from jreperformanceparts is $250 shipped. I'm ready to pull the trigger right now, so any help is appreciated. I'm not too knowledgeable on engine mods, but I know a CAI is a good first mod.

Thanks in advance.

Joe

Actually I think the Injen won the results... Depends on how you interpret them... I have the Injen and you can't go wrong with it....

A bit longer install process but the provided instructions ROCK... Did mine by myself in 1 1/2 hours...

The Injen is the best overall CAI on the market for proven gains, and the most consistant. The CAI box provided a touch more peak hp, but at a higher cost, and not enough to matter. The downside to an Injen is install.

Yes, I'm biased, lol. I own an Injen!

Thanks for the replies fellas. I ended up ordering the Injen from JRE for $260.01 shipped! I'm very excited to get it. Other than putting a drop-in Spectre air filter in my 300 and a K&N drop-in in my wife's Camry, this will be my first engine mod to a car, ever. I think it's a good one. Hope I get it this week so I can install this weekend, if not, it'll be next weekend.

Again, thanks.

Great choice.... You will love it!!!

I am pretty mechanically un-inclined (nice word for dumb).... and I installed it on my own in 1 1/2 hours... The instructions are very easy to follow and the only thing I noticed about the instructions is a few times it says to use an 11mm when it actually needs a 13mm socket / wrench...

Other than that it was very easy... Some say take the tire off and some say don't... I did not remove my tire and had NO issues whatsoever...

Enjoy it!!!! You will instantly notice it is there!!!!

Here are some photos of my install...

Now I'm getting even more excited...I love mods! I can't wait to get it on. To me, the car is pretty fast right now and has great "get up." If it's gonna be even faster and snappier with the CAI, I can't wait!

I was so tired when I did mine that when I was taking off the stock washer bottle - I just reached up and yanked the pump out. It took my brain a few seconds to process why I was suddenly wet. The washer fluid poured out all over me and all over the garage floor. Good times.

Hey guys,
What's the realistic concern with water getting in there with it down that low? I know you can get the hydrashield thingy but down here in Miami it rains A LOT and its not uncommon to hit a huge standing puddle before you realize it's there. That's the one issue that's holding my back from the injen. Anyone have one in a rainy area? Any experiences?

Thanks a lot.

you would have to submerge the entire filter under water, atleast 2 feet deep, and pedal to the metal.. where the filter sits, it stays pretty dry and clean. get the hydrashield if your really worried about it.

There are no, zero, none, nada, documented cases of the Injen causing hydro lock in the Camaro. I don't know of any cases for any make of car with the Injen. The driver will be more at fault then the intake would be, if one was able to hydro lock the car, IMHO.
