Have any suggestions?

Hard Rock Hotel works for me at that rate....

Hi Everyone!

Well I just got home last night. Had a very busy day at work after being gone for a few days.

Ok enough with the boring stuff. I went to a track in New Jersey called Atco Raceway on my way to a family reunion in NY. I called ahead and they told me the track was open from 5 to 11 thursday night. I pulled in around 9 or so and when I got to the gate the kid working said they were closing and I was too late! We were able to talk them into letting us come in for an hour. I hurried up got the car unloaded took the car to tech inspection. They asked how quick it would run and I said I don't know yet. They started to get suspicious when they saw the engine through the hood and heard the engine. They seemed really cool though and I thought there would be no problems running full speed. At around 9 or a little after it was dark and still almost 90 out so I knew it wouldn't be good.

I pulled up to the burnout box and gave her hell. Got to the line and took off smoking the tires more then ever. There was almost no stickey on the track. I only made 10.60 at 137mph. That was a faster speed then any of my other runs though. I come back around for another run and a track official stopped me and said this is a nice car BUT you have to have a roll bar for anything better then an 11.50. I said well that's cool I will get one but can I run a few more times? He said one more time but take it easy. So knowing it's my last chance I was surely going to take it easy lol!! I did a heavy duty burnout this time to try for more traction. I was getting dirty looks from the track guys after the burnout. I gave her hell still smoked the tires real bad and had to ease off a few times but made a 10.52 at 135.

After this run they seemed mad so I figured we better load up and move on down the road. I guess if the track was dressed up better, the outside temp was better and I could have had several runs I might have reached my goal. That night it wasn't meant to be so I will wait for a cooler night here in Indiana on a stickier track to try again very soon.

Paul, sounds like you had fun either way and I'm sure that number you are looking for will come real soon.

Any chance you are going to make it out to SEMA?

So 570 is going too, and MWS was talking about it. Anyone else? Maybe we can have a LPE/SEMA meet, that would be too cool. Of course you're invited too Pete.
MTCWBY was just asking about SEMA too. Anyone driving thier cars, or are most flying in? Undecided....

Paul:

It looked like it stayed over 80 until midnight that evening....along with nearly 80 percent humidity and no track prep.....not a good combo!

Too long a drive for me, it would take a week just to get there.

MWS, That track day looks like it'll be a blast, wish it was a little closer, then we'd think about joining you.

Paul, keep trying, you'll get it with some better conditions.

Blue, we're planning on flying in Wednesday, and out Saturday sometime. That's about all the days we can sqeeze in at that time.:( Should be fun though. It sounds like a lot of us are planning to attend!!!

Well -- I had a great track outing this last weekend. It was very hot and humid. 92 degrees and probably hotter on the track. It isn't very good for parts!! I blued both of my front rotors and went through my front brake pads. These were the R1 Concept slotted rotors. I'm not sure if was the rotors or just getting way to hot on the front brakes because the rear rotors are still good. Regardless I have new front rotors and brake pads coming. Maybe I should of went with the Racing Brake rotors. If this happens again, I definately will think about it. A 2010 ZR1 that was on the track got a little hot also - as the supercharger started on fire Not sure what happened but I am sure it ruined that guys day!!

The boot also broke loose on the right half shaft and lube all over along with the joint getting hot, so I have to send it back to the DDS to get replaced. I also lost a carriage bolt on the right side, so I will get a new one put in along with some loctite!! All in all - I had a great time tho

Speed, sounds like you must have got quite a few laps in to go through all those parts.

I have been hitting the Racing brake rotors pretty hard.. I have to say they are holding up pretty well to the abuse. They look better than I expected presently.

Another brake option would be the upgrade Pete did with the CTS-V brakes. sounds like a decent upgrade as well.. and you know Pete is using the brakes...

I hope you aren't down as long as last time....

The Brembo's may be better than the R1's. A road track will definately show the wear on rotors. Let me know how they work out if you get them. I have the Pedder's brake lines as well.

I've had the Brembo Big brake kit on my fronts, and upgraded rears to the brembo rotors since my car came back from LPE. They are holding up great so far. I also upgraded the fluid to the Motul RBF 600. I don't know if I'm doing as many laps at a time as you though Speed. Twice I've done about 20 laps, but usually I do 10 or less at a time.
