Maggie Installation Warning - Update: Magnuson takes care of it.

I installed a Magna Charger on my 2010 Camaro this week. It took about 10 hours at a rather leisure pace in a home garage ... no lift, regular shade tree compliment of tools including some decent pneumatic tools. The instructions are well laid out with plenty of good photos. However ...

There is one important step missing from the instructions that created a small issue for me. This small issue became a large issue. The heat exchanger has a red plastic plug in the top of it. This plug is to be removed and replaced with a threaded brass plug. This step is not included in the installation manual. In fact the brass fitting is never mentioned or pictured anywhere in the instructions. After I completed installation I started the car for a few seconds and inspected everything to be sure the belt was aligned ... no leaks ... Well, I had a small amount of coolant dripping from the passenger side of the heat exchanger. I crawled under the car to see that it was not comming from the hose connector on that side. The leak was also not visible from the front of the unit (looking through the grill). It wasn't until I removed the heat exchanger to inspect it that I picked up on the red plug. I figured as long as I had the unit out of the car I would check it for leaks. I kinked and tie wrapped one of the hoses and shoved my garden hose into the other one. I walked around the side of the house to turn on the hose. By the time I returned to the driveway, the pressure of the garden hose had completely ruined the heat exchanger ... destroyed it. I called Magnuson to get a replacement ... $450.00 and 4 days to ship it ... OUCH ... I am an idiot.

I wanted to lay it out there to alert you all to what happened, so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I am also hoping that Magnuson will add this important step to their instruction manual.

Please PM me your information and we will refund your credit card. That should not have gone out without the brass plug installed, this is OUR mistake.

Now this is what a C5 vendor should be like, I really applaud your company for this and makes it even easier to pick a TVS 2300.
