Oil Change Question, What would you do???

Ok, came time for my oil change due to time, not use because its life was still at 47%. Anyway I wanted my dealer to do the first one and they could take care of any computer updates or bulletins that may have come out since I took possession.
I paid for a Mobile 1 service which was 77.00 and when I got in my car, I spotted a grease smear on the headliner. I had them get the mechanic and he appologized and used GM upholstry cleaner and got it all off. I checked the dipstick and was cross hatched, good.
I started the car and the oil life was 100%, good. I drove to work and after that, home. I noticed then the oil life was at 98%. I see the computer printed sticker on my windshield states next service is due in Nov and in 3000 miles. Now what did they put in... synthetic or regular oil. I'm thinking make them drain and replace with known synthetic and the correct computer printed sticker. What would you do???

Just go back and have them verify that Mobil 1 was used due to your concerns as stated.

You know they are going to say, oh yea... It synthetic alright.... just the entry for the sticker and the cars' service reset was entered wrong. How do you know the difference between the two???

I would throw the sticker away and change it myself next time.

I never pay anyone to change my oil, mow my lawn, or do my laundry. If you want that stuff done right, do it yourself.

Check the work order. The brand and weight of oil should be specified. Also check the price of the oil. Synthetic will be more expensive than the dino oil. Don't be too concerned with the 3,000 mile change interval. They probably fill out all those stickers for 3,000 miles.

I'm just suspicious because they went through two separate steps after the oil was changed. I have a hard time believing they could screw up twice and not catch it. Yep, this is the last time anyone will be servicing my car.

Do what I do, I stand there and watch them put in Mobil 1 one quart at a time.

Just remember, the dealers where you get your oil change are the same people who tried to sell you Auto Armor for $500+.

I work at a gm dealer as an apprentice, so Ive done a lot of oil changes lol, and basically no matter what type of oil you put in, we just write every 5000 km or in your case 3000 miles, I wouldn't worry too much, personally even with synthetic oil I change every 5000 km, people say its a waste but it wont hurt it

Also I do everything myself but make sure you keep all your receipts of the oil you buy when you do it yourself, they can request that and if you have no logs or receipts and a major engine problem occurs they can void your warranty because you have no proof of ever changing your oil.
