3.73 gear with a Supercharger? Recommendations? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

My KB 2.8 is on its way and I have headers sitting in the garage. I will be doing my install in a couple of weeks. I've been spending way too much time looking for other items to add as part of a complete build.

So far I have decided to add an oil catch can, an MGW short shifter, and am seriously debating a methanol injection kit.

My question is for anyone who is running a higher gear set with a FI set up. Would you recommend the 3.73 gears or with this much power is it better to stay with the stock rear gear set?

Pros and cons are greatly appreciated.

Everyone I have asked about this recommended staying with the stock gearing.. So that is what I did.

Everyone has their opinion. My <.02 is keep the stock gear ratio. You will have more than enough torque with the KB and steeper gears may make you slower without hefty suspension mods due to lack of traction.

My car is blown, not with the KB but with the Maggie and I stuck with the 3.27 gears. It has no problem cutting 1.60 60's. And thats also with the stock converter and suspension. I'm hoping for some low 1.5's with the new stall.

Fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror is a better mod and a little cheaper too

. I'd look to beef things up a little before adding a gear set. Is your car a dedicated track warrior? If not, money is better spent just about anywhere other than a gear set.

Mine has 3.70s and I have ran a 1.5 60'. I love the gears and don't think I could ever go back to stock gears.

its obvious with your mods , this may suit you, but i don,t think with op that this a good choice. you have a good deal of mods devoted to not breaking axles and getting a good hook up..
