Synergy or 1SS? which one? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hi all -

Looking to pick up a 'maro sometime in the next month or so.Had the opportunity to rent a SGM from Hertz @ the ONT airport a few weeks back. I've owned over 15 vehicles, a 3rd and 4th gen 'maro - but my girlfriend (a blonde, if you must know) and I have never experienced the attention received driving the car down the coast to San Diego.

nuff said - being a previous V-8 Camaro owner, I'm torn. (Been there, done that with the impromptu drags). Suppose I can mod out if need be - but do I truly need the extra 100 plus hp? There's still a few 2010 SGM on the local lots - yet for a few thou more - 1SS M6 and V8 power. Granted, no bluetooth, which I can add later.

Top of that - survived an ugly divorce, a BK , but thankfully, landed a great job a year ago - it's time to do something for me..

So - SGM or 1SS ? - and if anyone knows of a finance person that can help me swing the money part - truly appreciate it..

I'm very very happy with my v6!

100 hp plus in the SS is very nice indeed but I can guarantee that you are faster that most of the cars out there in the v6. Also, California has lots of traffic so nowhere to use all that hp :(

IF you plan on racing/tracking or anything like that, I'd say go v8 otherwise, you should still be very happy with the v6. And get better gas mileage

To the OP - why not have both... you can order a 2011 SS in Synergy Green... have the best of both worlds!

Thanks all - yeah , as my 70 year mom ( and ex-4th gen owner ) said when I gave her a quick spin in the rental .. "where's the noise??"

I looked to see what Camaro Scotty had in stock - looks like a 2SS SGM - which would be great, but I've gotta conserve the coin..

My 97 was an SS - a big regret getting rid of her (loads of electrical probs, kids, blah blah, ex...)

Now that the kids are teenagers - and I'm free - that's why I'm back..

Order a 2011 SGM SS or get one from Scotty. This may be the only year you have this choice.

Yup, move quick. Heard Nov 2010 is the end for the Syn Green.

2011 2SS Syn Green, ordered in Oct, would deliver in Dec. Merry Christmas to you!!!

If you do order one, be prepared for about $1k for the SGM door panels and trim pieces for the dash. You won't get the stitching like 2010 you had but it will still look pretty sharp inside.
