To the OP, I'd say to drive both cars and put the most weight into that. After all, it's going to be YOUR car, not anyone else's. You have to make the payments, you have to drive it, etc. Get what you want.
Still more Mustangs on the road than just about anything else.

So if the review favors the competition, it's a BS review, right? Maybe the Camaro gets dinged on the reviews because of it's blind spot? I hear alot of Camaro owners mention it on here. Those guys must be BS owners I guess.

Also, alot of taller people complain about the Camaro's headroom as well. I guess tall people must be full of BS too.

You first sentence is correct. The 2nd one is ridiculous. By your logic GM must have paid them more last year because most of the magazines said the 2010 Camaro > 2010 Mustang.

From what I have heard the new 5.0 Mustang is faster than the SS Camaro when put up against each other stock to stock, but it is less comfortable to drive. I've looked at one of the new Mustangs and there is no room inside of the car to move. There may be more headroom, but way less leg room. Now I'm not bashing either car because I love cars all around, but I think that the Camaro would be the way to go. I chose the Camaro because of the looks. They stand out compared to all other cars. One more Mustang (nobody notices it around), but one new Camaro and everybody knows who you are.

This is just like asking "what color should I get"... Get whichever car you want/afford/whatever reason you have.

Personally I would have gotten a different car if I had the means (I almost won a 2011 Shelby GT 500 over the weekend) and would have loved that car as much as my Camaro, but the Camaro was the best muscle car performance for the price. In the end though, it's your decision and you'll have to live with it. I don't know what you're reading that is 'slanting' one way or the other, but people writing have biases as well - unless all you care about are the hard numbers...

Lets face it you buy these cars with your heart, not with your head.... that is what will guide you most here.

Personally it's be:

Camaro
Challenger
....
....
....
....
....
....
etc.

Maybe Mustang. Purely because it doesn't have the same affect on me as the Camaro.

But everyone's different!!!

Follow your heart.

If you have to question between a Camaro and Stang, go with the Stang because you'll probably rep that better than a Camaro (no offense). If you wanted a Camaro, you would know by now.

From some who has driven both the 2011 Mustang GT and owns a 2010 Camaro SS, I can say I made the right choice.

The Mustang does handle better then the Camaro, stock. I'm a bigger guy and the Mustang was hella cramped and I've never had a headroom issue in my Camaro. Pure performance, while the 0-60, 1/4 are all nearly identical, I love the 6.2 thunder and wouldn't trade it for anything. That and the rear tires on the Mustang are a joke. They just dont have any grip at all.

So, Stock Mustang GT vs Stock Camaro SS. Handling = Mustang, Power = Camaro, being unique = Camaro.

Also, most caparisons are doing the Mustang Shelby vs Camaro SS. Apple and oranges. Completely different cars. Once the Z28 is revealed, that would be the Shelby's competition not a SS.

Sounds like I'm getting the Mustang if the most compelling reasons are that the Camaro looks better... Looks are subjective, I'm more focused on a performance level. And from what I've seen and read the Mustang seems to be the better contender. The Camaro may just have to be on hold until they shed some weight. While I'm not a fan of the SRA in the Stang, it still manages to throw down better skidpad numbers then the Camaro.

your also talking pro drivers doing these test..........good luck on your mustang purchase,,,,i just hope you dont pull up to one of the many supercharged camaros out there and try and race them..........there will always be a faster car than yours. i bought my camaro on looks and performance,,,,,plus i have seen the engine bay on these mustangs and making them pretty isnt easy.
