Dealer Name: Jack Maxton Chevrolet
Dealer location: Columbus, Ohio
Dealer phone number: 614-885-5301x435
Dealer website: Jack Maxton Chevrolet

Hello all, my name is Pete Slabicky and I'm the Inventory Manager for Jack Maxton Chevrolet. I'd like to thank all who contribute to this website, I get loads of useful information and updates here that help me out greatly when assisting our customers in their Camaro order placement.

After discovering this thread, I figured I would put up a post letting people know that I have 12 unfilled Camaro orders and absolutely would not be asking for anything over MSRP. Jack Maxton Chevrolet is Central Ohio's #1 GM dealer and has been awarded the Consumer's Choice Award three years in a row.

If you have read through this website enough to actually discover this post, you probably know more about the 5th generation Camaro than I do, but if you'd like to place an order in Central Ohio I'll do all I can to assist you. We do ask for a $500 deposit, and upon order completion I'd e-mail/mail/fax receipt of deposit and printed order including the order number. Also, if it puts you at ease I'll have your order signed (by our GM or Owner) that you will not be asked to pay over MSRP for the vehicle, "with the understanding that tax/title/doc is additional and not included in MSRP."

I know I have probably missed the bus by not posting until now in this thread, but I just wanted to provide a little bit of information on my available Camaro allocation and offer assistance to anyone who has questions about the new Camaro, ordering one, or the ordering process.

If you would like additional information, please feel free to call me at 614-885-5301, x435, or e-mail me at pslabicky@jackmaxton.com

Thanks for your time.

I ordered mine at Fox Chevy in Laurel, MD at MSRP and no security deposit (because their credit card reader was down at the time).

Ask for Ron Allen.

Call and ask for Tad Pinegar, the New Car Sales Manager. This is where I buy all of my cars from. I have NEVER paid over MSRP, won't be on the new Camaro either which I ordered just before Thanksgiving.

Family owned and NOT out to "rip your lips" off....Several of my family members also buy their vehicles through Pinegar.

Dealer Name: Pinegar Chevrolet
Dealer location: Republic, MO

Just got off the phone with the salesperson I bought my truck from. He said that the dealership never charges more than MSRP for any car. They are in Central FL.

Be carefull when you post in this thread guys. make SURE its MSRP ONLY, if they are charging a "dealer fee" aka stealer fee of lets say $99 or more, it's NOT a MSRP deal. its ABOVE msrp.

I'm new here but have been a member of other car forums so here's my opinion. on this.

Why should the dealer hold a spot for a credit problem customer. If the customer does not have the ability to pay for the car, that order should be cancelled and the next creditworthy customer moves up in line. Now, if you order the car and tell the dealer you're getting your own money elsewhere, I would think the dealer expects you to hold up your end of the bargain and take delivery of the Camaro at the price agreed upon. The only way you should get your deposit back is if the dealer tries to get you financing and he can't. Getting a deposit back "for any reason" is not fair to the dealer or the customers lined up behind.

There's a dealer in Seaford on Long Island that is taking sold orders on 2009 Camaro at MSRP.

I believe the customer should have the ability to cover themselves 100% because they are buying a car sight unseen that hasn't even been built yet. For that reason alone, it is caveat emptor to the extreme.

Anyone who doesn't agree, that's your opinion. But I have dealt with enough shady car dealers in my time that even the most genuine and honest agreement should still have language in writing that protects the customer completely.

in response to post #469 posted by Scottmoyer. Please look at the Price Gouging section. I have posted on this site several times in regards to Vann Gannaway.

I WAS in contact with Chip Gannaway SEVERAL times in the past about the Camaro. Please go read what I posted, and come up with your own conclusion.
