So where is that pic from? Was it in something officially released by GM?

I guess I haven't been around long enough but where/when did they do this?

On the track at 150+ MPH you'd change your mind.

Oh look! It's another stupid rumor blown out of proportion!

FOR THE LAST TIME PEOPLE, GM HAS NEVER SAID THAT AMBIENT LIGHTING IS CANCELED. STOP SPREADING UNCONFIRMED RUMORS.

This isn't like the ambient lighting or even the stripes issue where there's been clear pictures and documented places listing it as a feature (and as far as we know, ambient lighting is still there). So other than the GMPP catalog (probably just a screwup), has HUD ever been documented as being available in the car? Links to original sources would be greatly appreciated if possible. It seems to me that it has always been wishful thinking that people distorted into being reality so they can bitch about it.

As far as I know...they are still "working" on the ambient lighting and are planning on making an announcement closer to production time...This information comes from John Fitzpatrick (Camaro Marketing Team for GM)

So more digging, I found this post by camaro scotty which mentions hud being available december 09. Doesn't say anything about it being available at start of production so I still don't see where it was promised and later taken away...

I recall during the Camaro lectures that were given at Indy that Cheryl stated that HUD would be coming in the next model year.

I used to not see the point of the HUD, until I bought a car that had it, and now I miss it whenever I drive another vehicle. This option is AWESOME!

If that was the case I would think you'd see a lot more race cars with a HUD. Hell, Nascar still needs to figure out how to get a speedometer in their cars!

Phew. I was afraid that it would be a $1,000+ option.

also a good guess would be the 2ss price will increase with the HUD as a standard. . no way they'll give it away free.
