My "Budget" Build

I just ordered the last items for my "budget" build . Building my sub box myself basically for free as I'm using leftover materials from a box I built for my wife's car. After Bing Cashback it all cost me just under $1100 dollars (even cheap isn't cheap). Pictures will definitely come and maybe a video of the install if I don't get too antsy and whip through the install.

This is what I went with:

Metra Dash Kit http://metradealer.com/api/vfg/view-product/id/99-3010S

Pioneer AVIC-X710BT http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ms/AVIC-X710BT

Pioneer TS-A6973R http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...neer/TS-A6973R

Pioneer GM-D7500M http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ries/GM-D7500M

Pioneer TS-W308D4 http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Subwoofers/Champion/TS-W308D2|D4

Pioneer UD-G308 http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...rilles/UD-G308

list looks good... what are you using for an amp for your fronts?

I like the Pioneer gear, IMO they are one of, if not the only company, that makes a decent "whole system".

I'm just going to amp the fronts with the deck, the Pioneer A series speakers do well without an external amplifier and it will save some space in my trunk. I'm just waiting for the sub and amp to get here and then I'm going to build my box and some custom spacers for the speakers. I should have it all together by next weekend.

It has begun! I updated my first post with a picture of my new 6.5's components and 6x9's utilizing the stock spacer.

I don't have th BA system so there is no amp but the metra kit includes everything you need for the BA and non-BA system.

Just finished the install of everything but the sub and amp. I was going to make a how to video but it would have just been a bunch of me swearing. Installing the deck was a pain in the ass, but on the other hand besides the removal of the rear deck lid the speaker installation went pretty smooth. It feels weird having a good audio system in my car after living with the stock for so long.

Finally took some pictures! I know I could have done a better job of concealing and tying up wires but it's not a show car and I never use the trunk.
