This may be a dumb question, but this is an easy install right? 5-10 minutes minimum tools..

Thanks Injen, I ordered my V6 short intake last night through the JRE Group buy and cant' wait to install it. I will most likely paint the lid IBM to match the car, but I'll post up pics when it's installed.

Looks like this is the way I am going once I get paid. Worried about the metal tubing a little as opposed to the rubber since I am in TX and we have high heat, but we will just have to see how it performs.

Is there any advantage to the black wrinkle finish vs the bright?

Not sure if there is a practical advantage. I just went with the black because most everything else under my hood is black.

Didn't know if there was a material difference and the heat transfer if there were different materials. It had been speculated that one was plastic while the other metal.

Is there a performance difference between the short ram version and the regular Injec air intake? If so, how much...trying to decide between the two.

as far as i know the regular injen showed gains of around 17hp and the short ram around 13hp. once an injen rep comes back to this thread they will answer you in details.

Thanks rd that helps. Also curious on the difference in the Torque numbers. If the difference is not significant I would rather stick with the short ram.

no problem. regular injen torque was around 17 lb/ft and the short ram was around 11 lb/ft.

here is the link to the thread Jannetty racing did..they tested several CAI and posted dyno results...they tested the 1st injen in this thread
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...injen+jannetty

if you go to page 3 of this 'injen short ram' thread we are on injen posted dyno results for the short ram also.

Ordered mine last night. Packed up the Spectre Intake and sent it back to Jegs for a refund. The Spectre intake seemed ok at first but my mpg went down 2-3 mpg and driving habits did not change.

Looking forward to the INJEN.
