I had the same thing. Fortunately, I caught a rock and had to have it replaced. I want to say about 700-750 for a Pilkington piece. New windshield is nice and distortion free.

there is a gm bulletin for 2010-2011 camaro windshields that crack on their own and the bulletin also covers distortion from the windshield. this is a warranty issue!

same here, it's not always the tech's fault either.. they make them install windshields by themselves.. i don't care how long you been doing glass work, there are some parts that are just too big and heavy to install by yourself...

And they expect them to knock out way more than is practical in one day. That's how they get paid.
That's why my hubby didn't stay with them.

although it can be done.... i dont want to..lol

this is why its my wife and myself that do the installs. we arre a 2 person shop and we do a damn good job. im 37 years old and some of the windshields are really heavy and in weird positions. haveing a second set of hands is the way to go.

i am only mobile and i will not do more than 8 jobs per day.

it can be done with additional setting tools and expensive equipment
(i wonder who pays for the window regulator)... lol

im 26 with 14 years experience and a 3rd generation glass tech.. its just me right now, but i get help from a friend when i need it.. looking to hire a part time HS or College student.. a young man i can bring to the shipyards and train to do the small stuff...

ive had some Safelite techs tell me they did 40+ windshields a day, could you imagine the skipped steps!?(
) my best (8-5) with one person helping was 20 windshields and maybe 2-3 tempered parts, but not mobile..

i wouldn't get a $0.. $50 is good enough.. the market in BR is so cut throat that the glass companies would waive your deductible...
