That has the coolest sound! Wow!! Has allot lower pitch whine than the Whipple on my friends Silverado. Thanks for the Vids.

Cool sound. I think the blower whine will get more defined when you install a CAI. This build is just clean, clean, clean.

Okay, I hate to see bad info passed. Here is the response from Mike at Whipple who is our point of contact.
I keep seeing 2 issues pop up. The gears and the jack shaft. First Whipple had 10 preproduction units made for testing and evaluation. Mine is one of them. When they sent the units to production they found the original batch of gears were too tight in tolerances which led to gear noise. Therefore, they had to pull those units and reproduce the gears. That was the initial delay. They now have the production gear issue solved. Once the new gears went in there was an issue with a resonance from the hollow carbon fiber jack shaft. It would create a high pitched noise at certain rpms. It's supposed to be quiet. So the decision was made to swap to a solid jack shaft. These decisions were made to prevent any problems for customers. Whipple will not ship production units until they pass final testing. This is a good thing. Those of you waiting, rest assured Whipple will not bring an inferior product to market. Hopefully, this answers your concerns. |
