Washed the Camaro and went for a cruise today. Happened by the local Chev dealer. Test drove a Cruze LTZ. I think it was fully loaded.

Impressions:
Pros: Build quality miles above the Cobalt/G5. Quieter, nicer ride. Way tighter turning radius it seems.
Cons: Engine is just not powerful enough. Passing makes the poor car really work. Like 5K RPMs. Also 6 speed transmission is really nice, when it can finally decide what gear it wants to be in. Just too busy, always seems like it is shifting. (I think this ties in with the underpowered part)

All in all, a very nice car, and I would buy it in a second, if it had an engine with a bit more oomph.

I really wish there was a way you could purchase a new GM vehicle and not have to deal with a dealer......... I really really hate going to dealerships. I would rather go to the dentist than deal with most dealers.

Age, location, what I currently drive, what vehicles we have in the household, stuff like that.

Yeah, they need an SS model. Or at least use the T/C motor out of the cobalt SS and call it the LTZZ if they don't want to associate SS with the Cruze

I have been entertaining a couple of different purchases.... Camaro and S100RR.

I have been to numerous dealerships and lets just say none of it has been a pleasant experience. The list of complaints includes clueless salesman and people that think they can take all my money..... above and beyond actual purchase price.

really people?????? You have 15 vehicles with a "market adjustment" and you cant figure out why you still have them????

I think I am going to wait until cruise to buy the bike.... I can use navy exchange to purchase it and not have to deal with any salesman! As for the car.... Im not quite sure what Im going to do yet.

the reason one dealer in my home town sold out. they had AMV's all over every vehicle on their lot. including cobalts. . .they had a $1200 amv.

I've also been looking at used 2500 hd's. I found 3 on their lot and not one below 24k and the highest was 32k (04 duramax 4x4). the same options in texas were all between 16-22k. when I walked into the dealers show room where my dad was talking to a salesman he knew. I was asked if I found anything I made the comment about how I should have bought in texas since it was so much cheaper. the dealer said you probably were looking at 2wd trucks. of course I knew I hadn't been and when I told him I hadn't. he kinda got an attitude like I didn't know what I was talking about. I've found one dealer so far I like working with. I've just not found a truck at his dealership I want.

there are good dealers out there. they are just hard to find.

They are getting harder and harder to find! I wish company's could step in and control dealerships...... but Im sure that would bring up other issues. I dont know what the right answer is but I have money to spend and cant find anyone to give it to.

wanna buy a k5 blazer? lol.

you're right they are harder to find every passing year. and it seems some of the smaller dealers are the ones reverting to the good dealer attitude but they don't have to stock to sale. . .sucks but it's life right now.

I think they should step in if the dealers are screwing the customers. but that won't happen.

I know it's a haul and you will have to have the car shipped or drive it home.

But you will have NONE of those problems with Tom Henry. Plus get some mods while you are at it...

They are good people and will give you a fair deal.

Let me know if you'd like to talk to him.

FYI -- The drive home is much better than the drive there. I suggest a one way plane ticket on a Friday so you can have a weekend with your new Camaro.
