I believe Tim should be getting 4 more Whipple kits in either this week or next. It is the same exact kit for either the LS3 or L99.

According to dynojet dyno, vehicle is at 560 rwhp with Whipple alone. Car was initially run on a Superflo dyno which always measures about 35-40hp less than the dynojet. This has been explained in detail on this thread.

I know there are many guys that are actually following this build and are considering the whipple

If you guys have questions, keep posting. I'm on vacation and will answer when possible.

first let me congratulate you on having one of this first whipples installed. the numbers look awesome. I just got a couple of questions 1. after the cam headers and intake the boost pressure will probably drop some, are you going to upgrade the pulley to increase the pressure? and at what boost psi does whipple recommend running to get the most out of the kit, I was under the impression that if you ran 8+ boost you needed to get forged and do a meth kit to prevent detonation keep the motor safe. also any idea as to when your going to get your car done,

Rest assured that whatever runs we manage to get, this thing is a large, very strong blower that can deliver more power than a stock drivetrain can handle. At stock power levels this blower is hardly working. This thing has plenty of room to grow once you upgrade the drivetrain.

Not to mention, I'm new to dyno runs and I really don't like seeing my engine stressed like that repeatedly. For those of you that aren't familiar, it takes the rest of the day for the car to cool down. When we did the max pull, the speedometer was over 165 mph. I drove it afterwards and the clutch felt very soft.

Actually we are really just requesting an additional pull on Tims dyno after headers and CAI before putting the cam in. RWHP numbers and boost level info would be awesome. It would probably only take an additional hour to pull the cai intake tube on and off and run it on the dyno. So it really won`t delay your car very much, i would say 2-3 hours tops, its not lik you have to remove the headers again or the air box itself to install the cam. However i can completely understand your concerns about your car on the dyno, i have run my cars many times on the dyno with no problems, but someone who is new to dyno`s will probably think they are really stressing the engine. I think i may have thought that back in the day as well. Its not worse actually than having a good full throttle run. I ran my camaro at the dragstrip rental last time 23 times in a 6 hour period. The car is built for it. But again it is your car and if your really don`t feel comfortable doing it I for one completely understand. Thanks for all the help you have been able to provide. Thanks to Tim for taking the time for the write up.

yeah you should do the cold air intake and header dyno run first that way you can really compare the cam's profile you are were debating on

We will be adding the cooling mist system to protect against detonation and as an octane booster. We were at 9 psi initially. I imagine 7-8 psi after headers and cam. As for the pulley, it depends on the numbers. If we're sitting above 600 to the wheels, then no. No need to push my luck on a stock block with that kind of power.

Just talked to tim, he should be able to get you guys a dyno run with cai and headers only added, by tomorrow afternoon. Cam and cooling mist will go in next for final tune.

True that would be good. We're looking at the torque profile of 2 different cams right now.

how much torque your looking at obtaining for form each cam. I noticed the torque curve for the whipple starts of kinda low compared to the maggies, i would like to have a nice 500wtq @ 2k rpm's for my build, however i may need trow on some wears into the mix.

Not sure if we added this or not, both the fastlane and rotofab CAI will work fine for the whipple. The injen will not.

Thank you very much. It is greatly appreceated. Ask him if he can get a boost reading as well, curious to see how much it drops w/ the headers. Again you are helping the rest of us out quite a bit and it is appreceated. This will let me know if I need to go ahead and order the next smaller pulley or not.
