COMPLIMENTS: Camaro vs. Almost Any Other New Car

I actually love the look of the Challenger and it may still eventually find a spot in the driveway as the wife likes the added room and look. When I bought my 2010, Ford had some good deals on the mustang.

I got what I wanted, though, and am glad I did.

I would've bought mine without rims if they would've let me. I really didn't care for any of the rims and 2-days after getting it home the Cragars were on it.

I was also accused of being an eletist....wow...all I said is not a day goes by where my car is not verbally recognized....cool, looks good, I like where your going with it.....etc....I did not say its better than....only it does get recognition....yes, even next to a Ferrari, Viper or Jaguar....next time it happens I'll take photos as proof as I attend many cruise ins and car shows. Its a fact....not "B S".....

Plenty of people do the same. If and when I get some track times ill be posting them in my sig.

Maybe you would do the same if you had some good numbers?

Not picking sides/stoking the fire but it is rather common and I see nothing wrong with his sig.

Personally, I don't see why everyone is this one thread is literally insulting the hell out of each other! My god! It's not that serious. What's the problem with one guy commenting on how much attention his Camaro receives? So what if it's a base Camaro, it doesn't look that bad too me. All he needs to do is slap some darker tint on that thing and it'll be even more appealing. Everyone has different taste on what they consider "good looking" or "ugly", they're both subjective terms; what looks good to me will probably look ugly or blah to you.

Why sit on a message board and put other people down? lol. Seriously. Now, I don't have a problem with Mustang 5.0s or Challengers, they both have they're pros and cons, but naturally, I prefer the Camaro over both of them! I think the Camaro still has most outstanding looks among the 3. When I'm out in public, my car always turns heads, even on a muggy rainy day, and the people LOVE IT. And that's the same thing the original poster is saying, his car looks good, and to his surprise people compliment it more than he expected. WTF is wrong with that?

I've read this thread from the beginning and it just seems like the competition has nothing good to say,......ever. Whenever you point out something great about the Camaro, they down play it, whenever you say how many people compliment and express love towards your car-they insult and reciprocate with they're car. Some of you guys on here seriously need to get a damn life, let the guy talk! If you don't like him, his car, or the Camaro in general, get the ***k. People deal with enough negativity every day, we don't need to hear more bullshit from nay sayers. Learn to get along.....primitive humans.

however, I disagree with the ugly and slow part. I think it still looks pretty good and it isn't the slowest thing ever, but honestly he just needs some humility. An ls camaro is not the best looking, fastest car around and owning one does not give you the right to look down on every other car, especially exotics and other cars that will smoke the shit out of an ls camaro. Being proud of your car is one thing, but talking down other cars is different. He just thinks he is driving an mc12. As for the people that are arguing on his side, have oyu not encountered the same discrepancies in your own threads from Camaro and non-camaro owners alike? Do you not see a pattern forming here?

I was at a BBQ today where a nearby Chief of Police was in attendance.

He was looking at my car and asked if he could sit inside. I said "Sure."

Camaro's, Challengers, and Mustangs are all nice and worthy cars... We all chose the one we did for many different reasons...

I love Challengers!!!! I sit in one and play every chance I get... I like my Camaro better, but the others do offer a nice change in scenery...

So anyways... I took the car on an all-day roadtrip yesterday (~14 hours) through 3 states, and every time I gassed up I got compliments. It was mostly people telling me they love my car, I'd tell them "So do I" and smile.

At a grocery store in a small town, the 2 kids bagging groceries saw my car outside and had a discussion about it (one of them said "That's a f-ing SS man!", heh) while I was going through the register.

One older guy stopped me coming out of a convenience store and asked me a lot of questions about the car like the year, the engine size (I couldn't remember the cubic inches, just the liters; the guy did the math in his head and came up with the right number). He also asked me how fast it could go, I had to tell him I don't know, I get a ticket every time I try to find out.

Another old-timer told me "Dodge and Chevy are doing a good job with these retro body styles." I said "Yep, it's a good time to purchase a car."
