V6 help

So I've had mt Lt for about 6 months and just hit that 7,000 mile mark.

I've been really happy except for recently. I use royal purple motor oil and a mobil 1 synthetic oil filter. My camaro has gone through and additional quart and a half of oil in a month.

There is no noticeable oil leakage anywhere.

That's only the first problem the second is that it makes an obnoxious squeaking noise from the rear passenger side tire. Only when I'm driving not when I'm braking, like around 30 MPH. I'm guessing that it might be a loose bearing. I've taken it to the dealership all they say is bring it back when it worsens.

I am at close to the same mileage on my Camaro V6. I changed to synthetic oil at my first oil change. Mine has only been a little low on oil a couple of times but no big deal. No noise from my wheels, but I'd tell the dealership I don't want to wait until I am broken on the side of the road or some big problem develops. It is a new car, it needs to be fixed.

I've ran full synthetic since day one.The first 2months I had it it cleared 2 quarts in a little over a month. I understand a small top off amount here and there but 2 quarts. The squeaking noise is terrible. I took it to them at the beginning all they kept saying is they can't find a problem. Now the engine light comes on randomly.

The squeaking might just be your seat belt buckle, mine needed to be oiled at 23 miles.

Dude you need to get that fixed. I check my oil regularly and it has never been low. I switched to MObil 1 at 1k miles and changed it again at 3,500.How often do you change your oil? If you don't change every 3 to 4,000 miles the engine will start to burn away some of the oil. I would tell the dealer they need to check the engine for excessive oil consumption.

but I change my oil every 2,500 to 3,500 miles

the first two i did really quick like one was at 1,100 and the other at 2,000. I always ran mobil 1 full syn. Now its Royal Purple

Then you should not be losing oil. That is unacceptable on a new car with 7k miles. Get that noise fixed also, that's why we have warranty to fix concerns that are a nuisance.

I wish it was that easy. The mechanic says the can't find it, ( it meaning the oil problem)

but for the squeak they say come back when it gets worse.

I guess I'll try in the A.M

The squeek could just be the brake pads. Re oil consumption, try using regular (fosil) oil for a few thousand miles. Check your oil consumption with regular oil. If it improves then go back to synthetic. As often as you change your oil, regular oil is more than adequate.

is it a squeeking noise or a clicking my v6 makes a clicking noise when accelerating

Yeah getting the dealer to do the warranty work is such a pain in the ass, oh well, if they keep procrastinating it, ill just give GM a call again.
Also the car eats a hell of alot of oil. As much as i love my camaro, which is to death, i cant believe the number of problems im having with it. The heated seat doesnt work anymore, cabin squeaks like crazy, rattling noises, buzzing noises, blown speaker, had a tranny problem, eats oil, window indexing problem. And the list goes on. I know that these are all minor fixable problems but weve bought cars before that were first year produced and never ran into this much problems.....going to chek my oil today.

Alot of people have had an oil leak, maybe its that?

6500 miles on dyno oil, changedfirst at 2500 and 2nd one Iwill do soon. No consumption at all.Some synthetics burn oil as some tend to thin out to much when hot. Mobil one does this and burns up to a quart in 3000 miles on our older LS1 engines, We all hated it and dont use Mobil one for the most part.If I go synthetic it will be German Castrol 0-30 as it outperforms by a good deal and doesn't thin out at higher temps and keeps the engine cleaner.this is important for our engines as they rev higher then the v8;s normally whenwe are out having fun!
