I feel really stupid saying this but for some reason I can't get my engine cover off.. The entire right side/middle lifts up and can be pulled away, I just cannot get the left side off. I'm not sure what to do next.

There is a kind of clip on the left front, like a little peg with a ball on it, in a rubber hole. Just pull up on it and it will come out.

Yes, that was the first thing I did. It seems as though there is something preventing the tab from coming out on the back left. I could just keep pulling on it I just don't want to break something..

What kind of tape is everyone using to mask thierry cover. I bought the blue painters tape, but it's not sticking to the plastic. I washed the cover and the tape just slides around. I've only gotten it to stick on the round bow tie emblem... Painting as soon as I can mask properly...

Maybe there is a small amount of oil still on the cover still?
I had no problem using the painters tape. Make sure you use adhesion promoter for the plastic and sand with a 2000 grit (IMHO this does help0

I used the blue painters tape. We did not sand or use adhesion promoter.

I wiped the cover down with rubbing alcohol, taped it up, and sprayed with Krylon Fusion paint, which is meant for plastic.

I'll try the rubbing alcohol tonight when I get home from work... It just seems slippery.
