It does not increase hp. It increases your hp/weight ratio. You have the same hp and torque, but have less weight that it's got to move thus increasing your performance.

There is a functional hood for the V6 and V8. They use the same hood and it's the MPD "Z Force" hood. It has a ram-air hood scoop that tunnels air over to the area of the CAI filter and it is sealed off. The same hood also features a functional cowl induction as well. MPD Z Force hood |

As KGA has stated above there are actually several companies that have created functional hoods that are either ram-air or a scoop that forces air into a intake box area. I know the one listed above, nickey chicago, and several others have done this.

Heres a question....Is the price of $270 really worth about 12 HP???? Thats 22.50 bucks per HP. That blows imo.

bbbbbut you have to pay to play! As with most cars. I have a buddy that put $10k into a 1989 honda civic hatch and its a monster all motor car, but it will walk even an SS, unbelievable...

If you get a turbo for 6k that adds 150hp, that's $40 per hp. That doesn't include the price for install...

there's not going to be a huge difference, but you should be able to feel it some. I think it was money well spent, personally. Maybe you can go to a local camaro meet and see if anyone has just intake on their v6. Granted i'm sure it's pretty hard to find other v6's that modify their cars. lol
I think if you plan on going turbo, then don't spend the money on the intake. unless it's going to be a few years.
