Im trying to see if anyone on here would know the benefits of going from a 93 octane gas w/ tune to running 100 octane gas w/ tune? My car is not stock and im shooting to shave some time off my 1/4 time. Im running CAI, LT, Cat back, 3.73, 3200 stal, ported intake and throttle body, and DRs. Im trying to get get a good time on the Bolt-ons w/ out internal fast list.

run the 100 octane gas from the sunoco gas station here in Jax....w/o tune you'll pick up .1 secs at least, with tune, I imagine that you would pick up more because you can advance timing....it's like running meth...

I have read that running 100 octane on a car tuned for 93 can drop power.

Mine is tuned for 93/100 mixed and I run 109 when I want to go fast. You don't have to retune to go higher a few points but you would to go lower.

The highest concentration you can use of mach series accelerator is one can/one gallon of gas (we will assume 93 octane). With the mach accelerator having a rating of 107 and one gallon of 93 octane, you come out with a lil under 100 octane rating fuel. That's roughly 6.50/gallon I can pick up REAL 100 octane fuel a lot cheaper than that. and not worry about consistency issues of how well my fuel mixed when i add it

The higher the octaine, the slower & more controlled the burn, thus more timing can be added. Unless you are running heads that have raised the CR or are turbo/supercharged. 93 will be where you will make the most power with just bolt-ons. |

You can run more advance with 100 octane fuel. More advance = more power if you are knock limited.
If you are not knock limited, then more advance will not really show many gains in power. Best thing is to try and monitor knock and timing, and see if you need higher octane fuel. Get the car on a dyno, and see what it likes. |

Agreed, I lost ET at the track wen I ran out of 93 and ran the tracks 100 octane. I was tuned for 93. I would take that to the bank. Tune it for 100 and you may seem some gain possibly.
