This is a great forum. Thanks for all the input chaps. I reckon I'm gonna go wit my gut feeling, and go manual. I might think differently if I could afford the mighty SS......one day.....

All American cars imported into Australia have to be converted by law. And believe it or not, Chevrolet UK will be selling the 2SS only, in right hand drive form as of next spring.....at a vast price I'm sure.

@ Melody. I didn't realise there were different modes on the auto box. Do you still get a nice shove in the back in sport mode?
Well no you don't get that kick like you do with with a manual but the transmission is quite responsive in sports drive and you get more rpm's in each gear then in regular drive. I only drive mine in sports mode and sometime manual mode. The gears are on the back of the steering wheel.

didn't know there was a law that you had to drive a right hand car over there. lol and no, i've never been other there.

For instance, i know you can buy a Japanese car built from Japan, like the GT-R and get it shipped to the United States and keep it right hand. Oh well, my bad!

some EU countries it doesn't matter either, I drove an auto while I was there, no way I wanted to learn to shift with my left AND drive right at the same time....... the autobahn is a blast if you ever get the chance.......

I have the V6 auto and have had it on the 1/4 mile drag strip. I beg to differ about the kick when you punch it. It glued my head to the back of the seat. it got up to 98mph in the 1/4 mile. in sport mode. I only chose the auto because I'm getting older and I plan to keep it until they pry my cold dead hands from the wheel!
