Hi Pete,

I absolutely love the ride my car has from the super car coilover shocks!

I drove out to Rob's shop (expert tire) to get the shocks installed. It was 180 miles or so in each direction.

I noticed a few differences in ride. First off, the supercar's feel and act more like a typical traditional stock shock absorber. The XA's do as well, but with a difference - when you adjust the XA's (softer or firmer) they change the feel of the ride.. it's either firmed up, or soft.

The supercar's dont have that same feeling. They make the suspension feel stable and sure footed. The supercar's feel like they keep the suspension more in check and the car seems to have settled down a lot more when hitting bumps in the road at high speed.

I would not want to drive over a washboard road at speed with either the stock suspension or the XA's (XA's adjusted in any of the more firmer settings). The Supercar's would handle a washboard with ease.

What you are experiencing is a result of fluid dynamics. There is more controlled damping in the Supercars due to the fluid mass. 52mm monotubes with reservoirs the size of beer cans hold such a large volume of oil that control becomes silky smooth. The smaller the tube the harsher the ride out of necessity to achieve control with a reduced piston size and fluid volume.

It is rare that you can get both improved performance and improved ride quality with a GMPP tag.

I got my car back and it is good to have it back!! The rear end feels like it should again with my Pedder's HD Bushings finding there way back home My new rear end gears have a little bit more whine than my stock ones but it isn't much. I am happy!!!

Hey speed.. do me a favor.. PM me the price for LPE to do a gear swap for the diff housing. I assume you bought the shot peened (Micro-polished) gears from them.. how much were they?

You did a great job designing these shocks.. I love the outcome! nice smooth ride, handles bumps very well, and has adjustability to play at the race track to dial in the suspension.

Too bad I only have 3 more autoX events, at least I have the baseline established for the car and shouldn't need any more parts.. it's just a matter of tuning and adjusting it from this point onwards.

no rush speed.. I'm not going to do anything till the winter downtime for the rear gears. I have the car running pretty well right now and don't want to disrupt anything this late in the season and take me out of the points race. I am third in points standings for my division for the season with 2 events to go...

Paul is the one who really keeps upgrading I think it is just easier for us to post in here, so to keep in touch with each other. I do read a lot of the other threads though and love your posts, as you seem to keep people honest

Man am I having Camaro withdrawls!! Been away from home for 3 months in Colorado and just 2 days before coming home-- Passport Transport picks up the car and has delivered it to Lingenfelter for the 640 HP package. Tim said it should be done by the end of the month.

Guess I'll just go do some mini burnouts in the 08 SS Impala and take long rides on the Harley til then.

You definately will have to find something to burn around in or things that take your mind off your car being gone. When you get it back it will all be worth it though!!
