Leather rocks! It will outlast fabric by 10x, and it's soooo much easier to maintain than fabric. Besides, the pictures of the fabric I've seen so far look like the fabric in my Wife's old PT Cruiser which was the biggest pain the ass ever. Every time a drop of water touched her fabric it would leave a spot for some reason. The only way to get rid of it was to get the whole freakin' seat wet to even it out. For all of you getting fabric, I really hope it's a different material than that used in the PT Cruiser. Me, I'm not taking chances, leather FTW.

I'm getting a 2SS so I'll have leather. But I have no problems with cloth, if leather had been an option of the 2SS I probably wouldn't have paid the xtra for it.

Cloth...Especially after seeing/touching sitting on it, trust me it's nice cloth.
I don't want all the extra junk on 2SS anyhow so it's perfect. |

ehhh I live in FL so the leather will be warm...that is my only concern, but I do not see any other drawl backs?
GM does a good job with their cloth....but easier clean up than leather?! Are you joking? I WILL NOT drink cola or eat in my camaro, but I drink alot of water...and I had water spotting on my cloth for the last GM model I had. Maybe its a mixture or dirt and water? I really don't know, but I could not lift that stain for the life of me and it looked like my passenger took a s---. Worked great for the next woman in the car..."hey hun, please sit in my heaping pile of s--- for a seat." Nothing against GM at all, its just cloth in general is much more of a task to keep clean than leather. Last time I had leather it remained in great condition for 14 years without ripping or damaging. However Cloth does get some big points because I will say that two tone cloth does look ssssssexxxxxxxxy as hell... |

Anyways 50%-70% (this is a guess, don't get mad at me GM) of the material isn't leather, just the small square you sit on and the small strip up your back. All the sides and rest of it are that fake leather material. For the amount of extra money the 2SS costs, you can buy 4 real 100% leather seats with equal quality leather (the leather parts that is). Ofcourse you'd be missing the bluetooth and interior lighting, however I can live without them in exchange for higher quality seats. In my case since I live in Miami, Florida, leather is out of the question since I don't plan on getting limo tints..

Getting a 1SS so going with cloth. My 2000 has cloth and with some scotchguard I've never had any type of stains including water. The cloth on the 5th Gen looks much tougher than the 4th Gen. I haven't decided on what color though. I've seen leather and all the owners say its hard to maintain which leads to cracking and tearing. No thanks, staying with cloth.

I'll be rocking the cloth in my 1SS. It just makes no sense for me to pay for unnecessary options a couple of years out of college.
