i highly doubt the v6 camaro will be running anywhere near the mustang gt in the 1/4, probably a half a second behind (and sure 1/2 second isnt too far off, but in the drag racing world its huge).

yes the camaro SS will whoop the mustang gt in the 1/4, as it should being the more expensive of the 2.
If the price is what you go by then shouldnt a GT500kr beat the snot out of a Z06???

the gt500 is in a different class its lt vs v6 SS vs gt gt500 vs nothing until a z28 comes out

IF they come out with a z28 or zl1 then the gt500 and z28 would be put up against each other

just stating the obvious

as far as i can tell its the gt and the srt8 against the SS so i think the order is right

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Do you have any idea how embarassing it should be that the SS holds up against a GT500 which is about 10k More????

Nissan Laughs.

No, it is still correct. You just can't see the GT500 because it's in front of the Camaro.

Sounds fair to me. So, all you guys who keep wanting to compare the GT500 to a Corvette, please refrain from doing so in the future.

Ok, so how about a GT500kr against a Z06.... The GT500kr cost more then a vette, so what happened?

Here we go again. Let's put a stock GT500 head-to-head against a Tahoe and see who wins. I mean, they might be in different classes of vehicle, but their price point is about the same.

How about this. Why don't you just admit that GM does not offer a ponycar that competes with the GT500 Mustang for 2010. GT500 owners have been waiting for GM to offer a GT500 competitor for several years now, and we're still waiting.

When, and if, it eventually arrives, there is not a doubt in my mind that it will outperform the GT500, in factory trim, in every way. That's usually how it works. The GT500's factory performance is a known quantity. When you know what you need to do in order to beat the competition, it's just a matter of determining if the return-on-investement is worth going through the exercise of engineering and executing it.
