Robbie,I think your 9500ci is well installed and it did its job. If you got nailed point blank your usually going to get a ticket regardless. Remember, this unit will help you avoid tickets but, it is not invisible paint.

I've run the same set-up as yours for several months and it works great, The laser saved my tail a few times and radar has excellent range with minimum faulting That bowtie absorbs a lot less signal then a windsheild, it's an easy place to install it and it has good height from the ground. That woulb be the last of my worries.

As far as the shifters, first make sure they are turned on and looking straight ahead. The front shifter locations are not perfect but they work there (same as mine) and they look better then the dork install with the shifters screwed to the bumper. If the officier that wrote you up knew you had a detector you probably would not have got a break.

Count you blessings and move on. Oh, I read somethig that Valentine or one of those sites will pay your ticket.

Perhaps you need to educate yourself on radar, it's effects, and on placement of defense gear a little more....

My "dork" install of the shifters is not screwed onto the bumper, it's 3m tape.... And I said earlier defense comes 1st, prettiness 2nd..

Anyone who knows anything about radar will tell you that the Camaro is a large car and defending it against Laser is very hard to do with ZR4 shifters..

If you want to haff ass the install, then more power to you.. It's your driving record, insurance and ticket cost, not mine...

Placement of the shifters in the lower grille is a HORRIBLE idea... The car is to big... While it may look nice and pretty, you are almost running without them...

While some brands do offer ticket reimbursement, none of them are what you think they are... They ALL have fine print and most will only pay at a maximum of 10% over the posted speed limit... In a 70, that mean if you get a ticket doing 80, they DON'T pay... Also, they don't pay the court costs that are tacked onto every ticket if you go to court or not.. They don't pay your higher insurance rates, and they don't magically remove the points from your license...

Please educate yourself....

Really... And I can't detect I/O??? I *think* the MPH BEE III has I/O (POP)... And besides, you should NOT issue a citation based off POP, no manufacturer recommends it because it lacks tracking ability.....

Nice try...

Quote:
With POP mode, the officer simply hits the transmit button once and a speed instantly appears in the target speed window. There's no audio Doppler and the speed disappears in a few seconds; it can't be locked. MPH does caution in a prominent disclaimer in the operator manual that no enforcement action is to be taken with a POP reading alone. Instead, the officer is instructed to hit the transmit button a second time, placing the radar in continuous-transmit mode, and conduct the normal tracking history ritual.

I ran radar for over 10-years and trained other officers on radar... Holding the trigger ON defeats it's instant on ability... Do you know what instant on / pop is and how it works?????

It does not sound like you do.... I really hope you are not issuing citations...

And the quote I listed in my response is RIGHT out of the BEE III training literature....

Someone asked what the violation stated
The violations states exactly:
SPEEDING MUNICIPAL ROAD
Laser Lti 2089 Idbyfldl Po
60---49

I don't mind the fee I have to pay as much as the possible points on my license.
I have been doing the exact speed limit for the last 2 days, I set the internal speed alarm for 40 mph which is a good average of the local roads, just to be sure I don't go over, some are 35 and some are 45, and everyone passes me by, its so funny, even the old people :p

Yesterday, I got shot with a laser going 38mph in a 40mph. It has to be the car. Way too noticeable.

How do I test the laser shifters to be sure they are working?

Look PAL!!!! im reffering to instant on as it being this....ill spell it for you.......The radar is off....(no transmitting) when car comes......you pull trigger and it turns on....giving no warning to someone with radar detector....unlike other police officers who leave there hand held or dash radar constantly on which is transmitting a signal...this gives these guys a heads up about a mile away!!! As you should know since your the master at this stuff....radar gets less usfull with more cars giving the advantage to radar detectors. i am fully aware that holding the trigger defeats the instant on....common sense...my statement is when you have one car coming at say 60mph in a 40mph and you hit him with the radar..thats it. any one in law enforcement knows that if you just pull the trigger and let go its not giving you a 100% read out...plus you have no idea what your hitting.

That is NOT I/O // POP

That is why when using a non I/O // POP gun, officer speed estimation should be used BEFORE activating the gun and then only activated on obvious targets..

I/O // POP lets you pretty much hit anyone and everyone without alerting detectors...

Be safe out there!!!!

You got hit with an LTI gun @ 2089 feet... That is HORRIBLE and most likely has to do with the position of your shifters.... They are to LOW....

As far as testing them out, go here and see if anyone in your area has a gun to help you test your setup out...

Thanks Raqball!
Wow, 2089 feet, that does suck!
I will go back to the shop where I had it installed.

The ZR4's are not that great against the LTI guns.... But over 2000 feet is pretty bad...

The Camaro is a hard car to protect.... The front is huge and does not offer many mounting options... Maybe they can custom manufacture a mount for you that will allow use in the upper grille area...

Good luck, and SLOOOOOOOOW down!!!
