Injen, is this normal?

Hi guys,

I was painting my engine cover today, and I realized the Oil diffuser that came with the Injen seems to be leaking? There is no visible dripping... but it seems that it isn't completely sealed or something.

Is anyone else having this problem? How should I solve this? =( In the image, look closely at the oil diffuser... it is covered in oil. If this is normal, I won't worry about it.

Mine had some oil around the bottom of the nipple going into the air intake. It was hard to see but I could feel it and wipe it off with my finger.

interesting... Do you have the Injen CAI as well? I am worried if this is normal or not for the Injen =p. I looked in the engine bay a bit closer now, and I realized it HAS dripped before... it left a drip mark near my front support beam.

Yep injen just like yours. I used liquid electric tape to seal min where it meats the intake. I must have missed a spot underneath where I could not see.

Mine too... I wrote Injen a few weeks ago asking if there was an updated piece or what.

I've always had Injen products - but this just seems like crap. The whole product is quality except for this fitting - just a piece of rubber hose shoved in there ... doesn't lock in / seal / or anything. Mine doesn't even fit tight.

Of course Injen didn't write back. Oh well.

Does the new Injen short ram intake have the same problem?

Would a gasket sealant fix it?

I didn't notice any performance increase. The sound is awesome. My MPG went to crap. Babying the car around I still get crap mileage... but it sounds good.

Wow, this is the first pretty much negative review I've heard of the Injen. Did you disconnect the battery or do the fuse pull during the install? If you don't have many miles on since the install, maybe you need to give it time.

oh wells..good luck!

seriously guys? I call thread jacked >=( I was asking about the problem! No one ELSE has the problem except formare and 1naylor?

I supposed a sealant would fix it... but why fix something that is Injen's fault? I need to confirm if this is fine or not. If not, Injen will be hearing from me for sure.

There is an Injen rep on the forum (username: Injen Technology - http://www.camaro5.com/forums/member.php?u=30298). Hopefully he/she will answer soon.

Takes longer than a normal short ram since you have to relocate the washer bottle. But nope not difficult at all.
