Cure time for Meguiars NXT 2.0??

I've been using it for a little bit, but I don't know hownlong I should actually keep it on the paint. Wax will be applied in a garage, so this is a without sunlight scenario, and temps will be around 90 degrees.

It's hard to give it a time- it depends on humidity, temp, etc. You will be able to tell when it's ready to come off. It hazes up nicely. Very good wax, I rank it just below Americana, especially on a metallic paint.

Do a finger test.

Give it at least 10-15 minutes to dry, swipe your finger across a hazed over portion; if it wipes off clean, you're ready to buff.

Wow really?! It [NXT] is an easy wax to use, it does leave a nice finish - I find its durability pretty crummy 4-6wks at most on a vehicle stored outdoors.

At those temps, probably 30-60 min. I finished with NXT this week. At 80 degrees, I left mine on 1 hr. before it seemed really ready. Before that was still smearing.

Unlike many waxes, NXT is hardly any more difficult to wipe off even if you leave it on 24 hours. I have left it on over night in the winter time before wiping off.

My only concern at that point is that dust has settled on top and I'm likely rubbing that around while I wipe off.

Regarding NXT durability: Mine is garage kept, washed weekly, car dusted every day, and wiped with detail spray on average 2 more days per week. I can start to see much less water beading abilility around 8 weeks after application. I'm generally ready to polish a few minor blemishes or water spots at that point anyways, though, so another coat of NXT is in order after that.

A few months ago, I gave the Meguiar's Hi-Tech Yellow Wax #26 a try. I wasn't so much into the "warm" look of carnauba but I left it on for almost 3 months. That stuff must be SUPER tough because it was still beading like new at that point. Went back to the NXT because It is so darned "flashy", especially on black paint.

Carnauba's generally bead better than sealants due to their petroleum content. I love the look of a nice carnauba wax. Everyone has their own taste though

You're right on the durability, but I really like this product. It really makes the metallics pop. It's hard to explain.
