Are you concerned about being able to open the trunk without power?
I am sure there must be an emergency cable release in the back seat area. GM puts one there for cars that do not have a key to open the trunk, even the ones that don't have the battery in the back. If not worst case scenario there is a release in the actual trunk, just pop down the back seat and it's easy to get there.

This is what I have planned for my Camaro once the weather turns bad. I just need to get a Battery Tender still. I'm hoping I won't need it for a couple more months, but winter is starting to get closer!

We have a shop building to store the Camaro in. They do use chemicals on the arterials and highways here and the side roads use salt mixed with a vile sand/pebble combo. Camaro won't be coming out until the majority of that is spring-rinsed from the roads. Our stupid county is under contract to use this junk whether we need it or not! They HAVE to use their allotment.Anyway, yes, I do plan to store my Camaro and drive the pickup til they run out of that crap.
