Am I reading this correctly? The Whipple's IAT's stayed at ambient temperature?! Wow!

The cam that you ended up with was a 223/235 with a 115 CL.

You originally thought about the LS9 cam with a desire to keep drivability intact. How does this cam sound and drive? Did you have to give up anything?

I would find that very hard to believe... Where is the IAT sensor located on this Whipple setup?

The IAT sensor is located in the rear of the intake under the blower. The actual temps were in fact above ambient but ... not by much. And in case you havent read the entire thread, this vehicle was tested in several configuations on different days with ambents ranging from mid 70s to high 90s. On all of the tests the IATs were single digit differences from ambient.

I have followed the whole thread since it was first posted with great interest. I'd love to see what kind of IATs it has with the hood closed and going down the road, too. What does the heat exchanger look like?

Cam has a small lope to it with an aggressive idle. In first gear, I can let the clutch all the way out with no gas and without surging. Requires a little more gas to get a smooth launch in normal driving, but that's acceptable. This is my first cam so take my opinion for what it's worth. It is not as aggressive as other Camaros I've ridden in.

To me, that's the most impressive part of this entire build. No flies on any of it, but IAT's that low....whew.....that's good. They should be even less, at speed, with the added airflow. When you consider where the intercooler is located, that's an amazing feat of engineering

This is the kind of information I love seeing in these threads.

Thanks for reporting this information

I wish GM would use Whipple on the Z28 like Ford has done on their new kit for 5.0!

I have my eyes on Z28, but I really like this Whipple though!

Actually, you're comparing two different... "things" (sorry, I just got off work and my brain is fried -- "things" is the best I can do, ha ha). While Ford does offer Whipple's kickass supercharger through their aftermarket arm, Ford Racing products, the factory-spec Ford Shelby GT500 is outfitted with an Eaton M122. Due to the various alphabet soup standard organizations (ISO, etc), it's probably way too expensive for small companies like Whipple, Kenne Bell, etc, to become OEM supercharger and component suppliers. Eaton, on the other hand, is a huge, multi-billion-dollar corporation that has the money to become certified and remain that way through costly audits.

Nonetheless, I agree. Whipple supercharger looks awesome and appears to perform very, very well!
