Am I the only one who doesn't think the 'Heritage Grille' is really all that heritag-y? The stock grille looks more heritage than that, I mean yeah I get the three horizontal slots like the RS package of old, but how it's done makes it awfully esoteric.

That grille makes the lower stock SS grille look even MORE cheap.

I hope they make a matching lower grille insert to eliminate that eyesore.

It comes with the upper and lower inserts both for $275 MSRP.

And NO it does NOT come with the bowtie...the original GMPP catalog specifies this.

Question is, are there any dealers/parts suppliers, that will sell at least the GMPP below MSRP?

What about the SS emblem? Will that be placed in the lower left side of the grille as usual?

Do not think so.

I am really beginning to like this more and more....the grill, that is.

I mean....damn...you could get that clean look on the front end. Uh oh...that brings up a photoshop idea!!!

I'm with you on that one. This is the idea that I was playing around with to make it more of a heritage grill:

Personally, I'm not a fan of billet grilles, but if the RS/SS/Bowtie were in the middle and everything but the grille itself were painted to match the body, it would seem closer to the '69 grilles.

Anyone know if you can get both inserts and swap them as you please (possibly by yourself if you have the tools and know-how)?

Actually, unless it has changed since the Initial Ordering Workbook was released, these are over the counter GMPP parts and can not be order with your car. There are some items that can be, but this is not one of them at least not according to the workbook.Camaro Accessories LPOs.pdf and these are the non LPO accessories Non LPO Accessories.pdf

I hear everyone saying that the grille insert includes the upper and lower portion, but in all the pictures that I have seen the lower portion looks the same at the SS insert. I think that to look right, it needs to include both portions. Either way, it isn't for me. And on the emblem, this is direct from the GMPP catalog: "Grille Insert Assembly (Bowtie logo not included)".

This might actually be the first I've read about this insert. I haven't been paying much attention to GMPP.

No bow-tie and separates the turnsignals to three pieces? Looks sick, I want it. I'm pretty sure the aftermarket will bring us a nice, big SS to put in the middle, too.

I hope to have this grill in my garage before I get the car. That way, it is the first thing I do after I pick it up, then take pics.

Maybe I'm the only one...but I'd actually prefer it with the Chevy emblem. (or at least the SS). It looks very "after-market-y" without it. Something needs to break it up.
