F- body's at the Barn
Official 2010 "F-body's at the Barns"
Date: September 18th, 2010 Time: 11:00am to 5:00pm Location: Gilmore Car Museum 6865 Hickory Road, Hickory Corners, Mi 49060 Admission Fee: $7 per person (discounted from the normal $10 fee) and children under 6 are free. Introduction Due to popular demand, we have organized the "F-Body's at the Barns" event for 2010. "F-Body's at the Barns" (formerly referred to as the Summer Meet & Greet) has always been just an excuse for all of us to meet together again, enjoy some F-Body camaraderie, and show off our cars. We hope that as you read the details planned, you'll want to mark your calendars, request time off from work, and come find out why this year's event promises to another great MiFbody event. Plans "F-Body's at the Barns" will take place on the beautiful grounds of the Gilmore Car Museum. For those of you who have never been to the museum, it is one of the most renowned car museums in the nation. It includes a collection of nearly 200 vintage cars in a unique rural facility located on 90 acres of meticulously manicured grounds, historic barns, and period buildings (which include a 1930's Shell Gas Station, a recreated train depot, and a 1941 Diner). The unique photo opportunities here will be unsurpassed and are free of charge. So bring your camera along with lots of film/memory cards!! Once you have parked you'll need to find our registration tent to receive your info packet. From there you'll have free rein of everything that the museum has to offer. There will be food available at the museum for those who care to order off their Diner menu. They may also have an outside BBQ grill fired up if you care to order something off it. Otherwise pack a sack lunch, please no personal grills are allowed, and there is a strict no alcoholic beverage policy. _____________________________________ What are some of the vehicles on display?? Following last year's blockbuster drag racing exhibit the museum is pleased to present their 2010 special exhibition: WHITE LIGHTNIN' & ROLLIN' THUNDER The History of Stock Car Racing From the dirt tracks of earliest days of racing to the super speedways of today you'll see some of the cars driven by the most iconic names in the sport Ned Jarret Jonny Benson Jeff Gordon Dale Earnhardt, Jr Randy Sweet Gaill Cobb "Tiger" Tom Pistone "Days of Thunder"-Tom Cruise movie car And then there's the museum regulars, including Pierce-Arrows, Duesenburgs, Cadillacs, a barn full of 50's-60's cars, and some of the most complete Tucker archives.
