Maggie

Installed the maggie myself. I drive it everyday and have driven 18500 miles with the maggie install. Reliability is bar none. 12.4 at the track but she spins the wheels. Have to launch at half throttle. Very happy with the result. Looks clean in the engine compartment and customer service at Magnuson is bar none the best around.

Mine is manual and it really helps. I really like the way it pulls now. Had a Viper Venom 550 before so the SS seemed a little weak. Haven't run it on a track as of yet. Just some back road stuff. But just the SC makes a huge differance. Plus the install was a breeze.

Oh and the tensioner is right in the middle. So just gonna run it till it loosens up some then re-tighten it.

well i did not keep up on all superchargers for this car, but i do know they have numbers from all over so no numbers will be the same.

but also i heard cause i was contacted that vortech is coming out with a twin screw. maybe wait and see what there outcome is on there new twinscrew. i do not know how the performance will differ from what i have. but i am guessing less work more power from what i have now

I just posted this in another thread, but the article is a really good comparison of different types of forced induction.

There was a great article in .... Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords by Richard Holdener. http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...ion/index.html

It compared several different forced induction setups on a 4.6 liter engine. Great info, great comparison. Sure its not a GM engine but the results all speak for themselves.

Vortech is using the out of date Lysholm SC's, Lysholm in Sweden went bankrupt and left a path of desctruction a mile long. I see it hard for them to outperform the Maggie's in any aspect.

Because you can't control the transition very well, and the boost, which lets say is pullied for 6psi, will go to 20+psi when you shut 4 cylinders off! Does just a tad bit of damage.

I too am having a tough time choosing what would be best if I do pull the trigger.
Two can be eliminated very easily......I don't like the way centrifugals are mounted, the gear whine sound, and I don't need the extra power they make over a top-mount, also I absolutely hate the way the Edelbrock system looks and yes I have seen it in person, so that kills the Vortech and Edelbrock for me.

That leaves me with a decision between the Maggie, Whipple, and Kenne Bell.

Are there any clearcut winners from that list for a guy that wants a very reliable complete system for a street cruiser?
