The camaro needs a sports package similar to the mustang track pack
Im thinking stiffer suspension upgraded sway bars, strut tower bars AND WEIGHT REDUCTION!!! Mainly the last one

I THINK THE LOOK OF THE NEW CAMARO THE BODY LINES GM DID IT RIGHT MAYBE ADD ALITTLE TO THE CAR LIKE SS EMBLEMS ON THE FRONT FENDER SO WHEN YOU DO SEE ONE GOING DOWN THE ROAD YOU CAN SEE IF IT IS AN SS AND NOT A V6?
ALSO SOME EMBLEMS ON THE INSIDE MAYBE ON THE DASH OR DOOR PANELS JUST GIVE IT A MORE CLASSIC LOOK! AND HOW MUCH H.P DO YOU NEED ON THE STREET 426 IS A GOOD NUMBER DONT YOU THINK! AND I THINK ITS A MATTER OF TIME THE GOV WILL STEP IN
JUST LIKE IN THE EARLY 70s AND THROUGH THE 80s RIGHT NOW IS GOOD TIMING
FOR THE PONY CAR WARS, BUT MY FEELING IT WILL BE LIKE THE EARLY 70s WHEN THE HIGH HORSEPOWER MOTORS CAME DOWN SO I SAY GET ONE WHY WE STILL CAN! LOL

Is everyone forgetting that the government owns GM? Does anyone believe that the present regime is allowing high performance R&D? They are working on crap like the $40,000.00. Plus Volt.

You need to do some more homework if you think that's what is going on.

Biggest problem (besides the price/performance ratio, which is getting better) literally is weight for the Challenger. But Chrysler is playing even more catchup than Ford is, I doubt they'll leap over anyone in comparos. Also it doesn't look like a stick shift is an option any longer, for those who care.

SlingShot...You are right. GM knew these were coming, and as usual, The General sits and lets others blow by them. If they only had someone who could look ahead. Where is Lutz when we need him?

Who blowing pass them, the Mustang is maybe slightly faster at 300lb difference, Is that what you consider blowing pass them?

Ok, so you wait until next year. Then there will be a Z28 just around the corner. So you wait for that instead. Then there will be a new GT500 or the rumored '7th engine super Challenger'. Then after that, the Camaro gets a ground up redesign. Followed the following year by the Mustang. And it goes on and on and on ...

Thats why GM's released the Z06 Carbon and the CTC-V (CTS-V Coupe), and why they're working on the Z28 as we speak, right? Because the US, Canadian, and Ontario governments are forbiding any performance cars?

They're not calling the shots at GM. And for the record, they were working on the Volt well before bankruptcy. And I think its ~40k pricetag was anticipated before bankruptcy too.

I dont want the Mustang nor challenger to be faster than the Stock Camaro that you buy on a car lot however what sells more cars ?

#1 the Faster one ?
#2 Styling ?
#3 All around daily drivablilty ?

As there are the speed demon crowd who want the Camaro for performance as well as everyday drivablilty most people who buy this car buy it for the looks and say 425hp is enough for me for what im going to do with the car.

As stated up above

SS=gt=rt gt500=rt8 = ??????? Z28 !!!!!!

we dont have an answer for the two mentioned up above.

Why would Gm want to sink money into a car right now and make it more hp when its selling like it is ?

The Z28 will be the bump however until the Vette gets whatever it is getting I dont see Camaro going anywhere.
Gm is probably going to stick to where it is motorwise and try and make this car EVEN better than it is all around than focuc on the HP.

If Hp means what much do what I did GIVE IT MORE throw in a Cam , mill some heads and give her some more POWERRRRRRRRR.

I think its riduculous to constantly trade up just because another car has more power. Ever heard of modding? Come on guys, if you have to be faster learn how to turn a wrench or at least pay for someone to do modifications. There will always be something faster.

No way for that car to get into the 3 anything range!!!! The CTS-V is only 3.9 0-60

Here's my thought.... I love the Camaro. I like the mustang and like the challenger.

When we were going to Oshawa for the 2010 BBOMG, we passed about 20 truckloads of challengers. Of that 20, 12 truckloads were in a color I haven't seen before...a hint of purple, blended with what looked to be May Kay Cosmetics PINK...... It was...YUK. That image is burnt into my head. Now when ever I see one of ANY color, I remember those truckloads that went who knows where!

Thank You

I'm not scared by any means I will line up against any New Mustang Gt or Challenger modding a car only fixed the bump in HP I needed.

props to the others for for once offering something however it comes down to a driver and a talented motor and the LS3 is proven talent it just needs some tweaking to get it even further .
