I Received A Different Letter From GM

i heard they were sending out all these letter by today. i havent gotten mine but im hoping that mine was sent out and i should receive it by the end of this week atthe latest.

Well, 2 or 3 at the same dealer as me that ordered the same week got their second letter, but I just called again and got told by the woman on the phone that my order number was not in the system and had not been accepted by GM. I said WHAT! I was the first to order on the 13th and I have my workbench sheet as well as the first letter. She then told me I needed to call my dealer and find out if this was a legitimate order..........now, I'm really getting pissed. So I told her thanks for nothing and hung up on her. Then I called my sales manager and he was totally surprised by my call and said that yes, I was the first order and I was definitely in the system. He did say that depending on constraints or what-not, that GM may not have accepted the order yet. I said I understand an accepted order to build, but this should just be an acceptance on the pre-sold cars.

I'm just going to accept the fact that I won't be getting this piece of documentation from GM's marketing department. It means something to me, but don't care to get it with #9500 of 10,000. That's not why I was at my dealer the first day to order this car. I intended on getting a low car number and hope I still do. But at this point, if GM has purged orders or something, who knows what will happen. FYI, I have never changed my order from day one either. It is exactly like I specified on the 13th.

Sales manager said he would call the number himself and see what he could find out.

So, if you ordered on the 13th or so, I don't know what to tell you other than good luck.

Ok, called back after verifying with my dealer..........they still can't provide any information. I don't understand this, but this is why GM will FAIL in the future unless they start getting the small stuff straight. The dealers don't know anything, the marketing department doesn't know anything, so, WHO THE HELL KNOWS?!?

Holding...........holding..........ok, here's the current latest.

Lady on the phone said she was going to investigate further and would be calling me back as soon as she heard something. Said in an hour..........so look for my post later tonight when I don't hear back.

And I'll post this in the right place also, but anyone in NC or the close area that hasn't gotten to see a 2010 Camaro needs to come to the International Auto Expo Feb 12-15 in Raleigh at the NC State Fairgrounds. I was told last night via email from one of the show coordinators that one is scheduled to be there. The website is currently showing old pics from last year.

If you come out, I'll have my 68 Camaro in Dorton Arena in the adjacent building. Stop in and say hello. We'll chat about how we didn't get our letters on the weekend eve before production starts on the 16th.

This is the one they used to have at the Convention Center downtown with all the new cars and such. The classic display will be new for this event. You are thinking about the Carolina Collector Autofest maybe. They are having that in March I think in the same spot. They are talking about putting cars in DA on Sat.

I just called back today and (Tina) said that i should check my dealer so make sure the order has gotten accepted and that she knows there was a delay due to the shut down from the holidays.


Edit: Called my dealer and he is going to look farther into it and let me know. Maybe he could get some better answers out of them. Ill let you guys know as soon as i found out.
