Do I dare ask what it would cost a guy like me to duplicate that car - out the door?

Show me ANY H/C package that will get a stock LS3 into the 600whp range. Along with this 600+whp you get stock idle, 18+mpg (out of boost), and you don't have to break the motor open. To me, that's anything but lame. Do you think that if a blower of todays caliber was readily available in 69, most of the big name shops wouldn't be sporting them? While you say anyone can slap on a blower, the same can be said about slapping in 427 or "X" cam and ported heads, back in 69. This is 2010 and we have MUCH better technology than in the 60's and 70's. The old saying, "no replacement for displacement" doesn't hold as much water as it use to. In todays world, displacement is a multiplier for technology.

Don't you think it's a little unfair to compare a $700k Enzo to a $36k Camaro? By your standards, these tuner cars are lame cause they aren't slapping in 6L V12's that rev to 8500rpm and trimming the Camaro to 2800lb.

You need to get real. Todays Camaro is VASTLY superior to the 69 models and that includes the Yenko version. That's not to say that the 69 Yenko Camaro isn't a bad ass machine. Hell the V6 version puts out more HP than the standard V8 69 Camaro and would probably beat it down the track. This in no way diminishes what Nickey and the other shops are doing with their motor swaps and H/C package, just stating that you're being a bit unfair with your lame SC's statement.

It comes down to cost man. Comparing Ferrari to Chevy? Thats a bit of a stretch, and ohh have you even seen the annual upkeep of an Enzo? You could buy a couple of Camaro's for the price to keep that thing running like it should every year. Sure its NA but the cost of that over a ZR1 thats not even a fraction of that in upkeep. Sorry I will take the ZR1.

Again its cost. If someone is slapping a supercharger or turbo its because it keeps the cost down. Sure back in the heyday you had the luxury and the market share to build a car like this. Along with the ease of just throwing a big block into a car and not having the goverment down your back. Now a days a Yenko Camaro would not be worth it to the dealership. They are competing in a bigger battle with everyone from the dealer across the street to every import in the world. Again it just comes down to cost.

I mean sure can it be built. But your talking big bucks for one of these cars. A tuner is in it to make money and sell his product. If no one is buying. I dont care if the cars got 4000HP and does the 1/4 is 2 seconds. The problem is who is going to buy if its out of the price range of many of the customers.

Talk about the best of both worlds. Labor day weekend we had our 2010 Yenko Camaro at the Annual Supercar Reunion, held at Gateway International near St. Louis. First pass out of the trailer I ran a 11.75, with a couple of other high 11 second passes with another driver, my son Jon. No turbo, no blower, all motor. The next day, my wife Diana, with a couple of grandchildren along for the ride, drove the car home, 200 miles plus, with no issues. Well, except for a lot of looks, thumbs ups, etc, and anytime they stoped, folks swarmed the car, wanting to get a closer look and ask questions.

Thanks NickeyChicago, Pedders and the others who contributed to the build.

I have the special Jamie Mac Edition. Its one of a kind. I gave away the sleeper status.

Just noticed this pic even shows off the one of a kind special factory flaw in the center of my spoiler. How many builder cars have that bubble? LOL

I can honestly say, our 2010 Yenko prototype gets more attention/comments than our original '69 Yenko Camaro, even when they're sitting side by side...I literally have people ask about the car every day, which is saying something, being as we live in the middle of nowhere in the land of 4x4 trucks!

I grew up in Canonsburg watching the Yenko Camaros my uncle had. Then watching the family open a Yenko Honda dealership kida confused me a bit. I thought of going to the family as well to see how they would do a 5th gen. That car looks great and I would love to know how to get those stripes.
