I never really cared that much for top speed. A lot of cars will run pretty high top speeds. It just takes them longer to get there. I like the feel of getting slammed back in the seat from a dead stop one 1/4 mile at a time. Besides unless your car is modded The SS's all top out at the same speed, the LT's top out at the same top speed ,and the ls's top out at the same top speed which is the rev limiter.

actually, the SS & LT are limited at 155 while the LS is limited at either 115 or 118, don't remember which.

Only the LT's with the RS package have the 155 limiter, the others will have the lower limit

governor was given extra days off due to the bad economy

Most of us get the value of out governors changed when we get our cars tuned. Mine is set to kick on at 338 mph.
