I might got 19/20's eventually, but for a while I will stick with the stockers for sure...

Well, with stock rims and the tires I want I'll have a section width of 9.7 inches all around, which is not bad for a V6. If widened the rim to 8.5 inches, it would give me a section width of 10.1 - not much more for the cost of widening the rims.

Not that it's a "performance" vehicle, but I have to re-program twice a year on my Avalanche....during the winter I run the factory 20" all-season wheels/tires but during the rest of the year I run 24"x10" Dropstar DS-2 rims. Each set has it's own sensors also....well worth the $70 cost.

The re-program not only affects the normal things like speedo and odometer but also traction control and ABS. It's done "per wheel" in the PCM and you have to input the tire size for each of the four.

In all honesty, it's those damn Tire Pressure Sensors that always give us hell.

Here in St. Louis, ELCO Chevy only charges $24 to perform this for me....and I'd gladly pay double that because it's just a pain.

Damn, I guess GM is rice because they put factory 17" wheels on my 4th gen SS...j/k. You're right that once you get into 20" and above, they usually are in even numbers.

I'll probably go with a wider rear wheel eventually, but not staggared front to back. This car looks good with the same diameter. I'm a big fan of GM's choice to staggar the Corvette's wheels and 4th gen Camaro's look good like that also.

Changing the diameter of your wheels will screw up your speedo, ABS, Stabilitrack, but that is easily fixed with a tune.

if you maintain the overall wheel height, you shouldnt have a problem. I switched my rears from 16's to 18s and researched the overall wheel height before I bought new tires. they are a 99.9999999% match with the old wheels. in fact, they were 1.3mm taller than my stock wheels.

nothing a little burnout cant fix.

ABS isnt really affected when putting bigger wheels on unles you are going from a 16-24. then its just the weight that is affected not the ABS.

I'd like to find a wheel that has a deep dish in the back (4 - 5 inches) and a less deep dish in the front (2 - 3 inches).

Anyone know of anything like that? Something kinda muscle car looking, not bling bling.

Maybe an anthracite painted center 5 spoke with polished deep dish lip and rivets?

Something like this?

most staggered wheels come like that. they are smaller in the front because of the width. and a bigger lip in the rear because they are wider.

I will definitely be doing staggered.
Both width, and diameter.
Probably 21x9's up front and 22x11's in the rear.

To clarify what I said earlier - while I love the look of something like 18's in the front and 19's in the back, I want to be able to rotate my tires fully to preserve tread life. Call me cheap I guess. Or just poor in general.

right thinking wrong car. if you want to be "cheap" and be able to rotate then go for the G8. THe stance will be all wrong without a staggered fitment on the Camaro. Just my 2 cents.
