Camaro birthday is today 09/22/1966. The day Chevrolet announced "Camaro." A word that the auto-world has come to know.

I doubt that any of us will be going out to SIR until late October or early November when the temps drop quite a bit. No use flogging the car with temps over about 85.

SIR is 5-10 deg cooler than the airport. By 10pm it'll be in the high 70s. Cool enough.

I should be there.

On another note.

Glen I went to SIR tonight. I could not get traction if my life depended on it. I had my tires to 25 PSI, I was trying to be gentle off the start, but no matter what my tires would spin. A few of the other guys were making comments that the starting line was slick, but they seemed to not have a problem.

Would you have any suggestions? Other than Drag Radials.(working on that)

I did add headers and a new tune to the car, but I have had plenty of time to get use to the new shift points. Just seemed like I had a huge amount of torque and no grip.

Even going into 2nd and 3rd, I could feel the rear end fishtail a little. Which is something I have never felt before.

Hi Will. Hummm, making a lot more tq & hp huh? Well, back in the day, we would put a set of 90/10 shocks on the front. They were designed to extend VERY, VERY easily and retract with a LOT of resistence. This would allow the front end to come up very quickly and transfer the weight to the rear of the car. Dont know if they make an adjustable McPherson strut for the front of our cars that is adjustable that way but you might check. They may be more expensive then just getting the drag radials. Nice problem to have though.
