Great story........

Saw this on Yahoo this morning. Mods if could let it hang out here a bit before moving it to sports section?????

I think it's awesome. I love football and have worked with special olympics bowlers, so this touched me.

Kudos to the opposing teams, teammates, faculty, coaches and community for a job well done.

Great story......If we could all do a little something for someone less fortunate than ourselves, think of how much better the world would be........

I saw it this morning too....and YES its a great story.....and it says a lot for the players and coachs of both teams and their schools for making this happen for that young man. If our world would embrace these feelinhg more...it would be a better place for ALL of us to live.

Excellent Story.

I was a coach for a little over 10 years in Everett for Special Olympics and it is great to see this happening in the High Schools from all involved.

It's nice to know that some people in this world get it once in a while.

Yes. I have no doubt.

The players who talked about the excitement and joy on his face got to experience something special.

I had the privelege to work with special Olympic kids Once a month on Saturday for a couple years and the excitement they give is so pure it grabs your attention. I'll never forget James and Harvey. So animated. Harvey was VERY serious. He always had a super scowell on his face when he was bowling. But when he was waiting his turn, he was very cheerful and playful. Fist pumps after he knocked pins down and a spare or a strike, he'd stand there for a few extra seconds and glare angrily down the lane as if to say, take that you ****ing pins. Then he'd come back smiling.

And James, was always hooting and hollering. If you didn't know he was mentally retarded you would think he was making fun of someone. He was so fun to watch. I looked forward to it every time they bowled.

The excitement in their face is powerful.

Sorry, lol, memories.
