Just drive normal. Avoid the extremes, like redlining the motor or lugging it in a high gear at 900 rpms...

Don't be afraid to give it some decent throttle and enjoy it. Just don't beat the ever living hell out of a green engine. Same with the trans and rear gears. Gears like to be broken in moderately before seeing max load.

Then after 500 miles or so, let it rip at will. The owner's manual give a very conservative break in mile of 1500, which I think is a bit overkill.

Plenty of people will say drive it like you stole it, and that is good advice for a stolen car. If you bought this one, drive it like you own it.

The owners manuel is a wealth of information on the do's and do nots. Generally its best to take it nice and easy on the accellerator the 1st 1500 miles...................Congrats

I broke my LS3 in "under load" not "like I stole it". Do a search about breakin techniques and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Drive it like you will after the break in period. Also push it some since it is under warranty and you want to find the infant mortality failures sooner than later. Put 1500 on it and then change the Differential fluid, Tranny fluid and engine oil. Good to go until a oil change at 4500 miles.

Plus change up your speeds during the break-in period.

easy the first 500 miles... avoid long stretches at the same RPM's.

After 500 miles, drive it like you stole it!

OOOOPS

I have 900 miles on mine now and I've been driving it pretty hard most of the time. Already have the CAI and Axle back exhaust on and can't keep my foot out of it because of the sound now

I have always done the break it in how you'll drive it routine and have zero problems in the past

Pretty much just drive normal but try to vary rpm's over long stretches. Don't beat on it and don't go to easy on it. I waited till 1600 miles and changed to Royal Purple since that was what is recommended by them for use in new engines. I'd say after around 500 miles you should be good to beat the living crap out of it.
