Because that would mean the camaro will outperform the vette. Just doesn't seem likely.

On a race track, My money is on the Camaro SS. The handleing will be on par to the Z, maybe better in some areas. But the Camaro has waaaaaaay more horsepower and torque.

without a doubt the V8's customization capabilities are vastly superior to the VQ

No it would not, it seems your trying to say if the Camaro ss can beat a 370z then the SS would be better than a vette? you logic is flawed.

Please explain. The fact is the Z did better on the skidpad than the c6. So if the camaro beat the z in handling, it would also handle better than the vette. It seems your passion for the car does not let you see plain math.

That would rock. And if it doesn't, we shouldn't get our feelings hurt that our muscle car cannot handle better than a sports car. I mean, that is what its made for.

Nope, your partialness towards the Z (which is a fantastic car) is useing a false definition of handeling, which is waaaaay more than math on paper. it includes weight, saloom speeds, feedback, braking (with no fade) etc.. Handleing is a total package, not some math equation. the ultimate proof is track times, which both the camaro and the vette will beat the 370Z on the track IMO, we shall see.

Hey, the camaro is not some resurected muscle car, it is infact a modern 2+2 sports car. IRS, RWD, 6pd trany's etc...

That is a race I'd like to see. However, all things being equal, probably the biggest determining factor would be which track?

I'm not partial to the Z, although I would agree with you that it's a fantastic car and is 2nd on my list of automobiles I'm considering. You're obviously partial to the Camaro, which is great, just don't let your bias make you defend a handling number that we don't even know yet.
Also, "weight, saloom speeds, feedback, braking (with no fade) etc" is nothing but math. In fact, it's like, math in the purist form.

2+2 sports car?

"sports car
n. An automobile equipped for racing, especially an aerodynamically shaped one-passenger or two-passenger vehicle having a low center of gravity and steering and suspension designed for precise control at high speeds."

But maybe I'm just a traditionalist.
