Hey --- NO RATTLES OR VIBS

Got the SHARK back late this afternoon -- Dealership will be mailing my invoice to
me with all they did -- I've got to admit they did do a lot to the Camaro --
I don't want to miss a thing they did so till I receive the detailed invoice I'll have to ask
all to hang in there--- Please have patience as I did waiting 15 days for my Camaro--

Are you ready for this

By the way THANKS for having patience -- Well here it is in detail--

1-- Removed Air Inlet and added foam tape and sealer ( FP - number 7651419 )
Rattle still present --

2-- Refit Windshield and added foam tape shim to Air Inlet Grille Panel --
As per Bulletin 09 -08-48-003A ( check Crazy Cat post # 31 above )
Rattle present but not as much --

3-- Found noise louder at floorboard area next to Rocker Panel-- Removed
passenger side Wheel Well Liner , Body Plug and filled Rocker Panel
area with Expandable Foam ( B5410 ) ---( the Rocker Panel is located
below the door sill ) --

And with that my friends the Camaro is RATTLE free -- YAHOO

I've driven about 75 miles and it is sweet without the rattle and
vibration-- It was a challenge for the Tech and he was determined
to get that rattle out of my car ---

I almost wanted to hug him --- NOT --- LOL

Hope to see some of you at C5F2 --

AJ

Thanks so much for the update AJ. Can you please do the rest of us a favor and give us the name of your tech as well as your dealerships phone number? I am going to simply get my tech to discuss the issue with your tech and hopefully save my car from unnecessarily being torn apart.

Just checking back with you guys ---

The Camaro went in to have the rattle problem taken care of with 26,500 miles
on it . It now has 29,900 miles and NO RATTLE -- NO VIBRATION !!!

Nothing but the sweet sound of the Borla exhaust !!!

So is this not a easy fix? Looks Like I might have to take it to the dealer. I hoped it was something simple... As mine sounds like a flapping noise at 70mph and gets louder as I go faster. Hopefully someone has a simple fix.

close the window! check your tires, they make noise with wear and really loud when only little thread left. With your mods in the engine bay, dealer will likely play the "it is your mods that causing the problem" card. Good luck.

This noise has been evident since day 1, I figured it was just wind noise cause a plastic panel piece under the hood to flap, and maybe a piece of foam tape would correct the problem.

Solved

I have been experiencing this same condition...I took my car to the dealer and they found a loose exhaust heat shield. The fastened it up and all is well!

Awesome! Do you have any details on what they did? Where was the heat shield located, what bolt did they tighten up?

I'm going to have to crawl under my car when it warms up here and take a look around.
