I just toss the brace into the trash. It doesn't do much if anything. I think GM put them on these(just like the earlier F-bodys) to hold the exhaust up incase the bolts fall out. LOL

That x-brace wont work for the L99. I've already moved my brace farther down than that and it still hits.

Have you called Jeff or Steve from Solo? I am sure they can come up with something to help you.

I would take it to a good muffler shop and see if they can maybe weld a hanger in somewhere. Any good shop will solve the problem in seconds. I am sure there is a million places in TX, there are so many cars nuts down there!

Good Luck!

Ok try this just what I did at muffler shop! Put 3 washers under brace then bolt then loosen the front exhaust clamps use pry bar under pipes pry up and tighten front clamps while prying up then should hold there!although mine is a ls3 with no resonators I still had clearance issue on that with the 2.5in borla atak catbacks!the reason I didn't use 3in! And try that!may have to do few more clamps like that untill u get rite and still get tips to line up rite at same time! Good luck on that! My issue is I can get to all 4rear trans. Bolts except 1 due 2 the driver side front pipe y pipe is to close to the bolt to get socket on but working on that now!to loosen up a lil 4 extra clearence 2 install my new hurst shifter which I may not need but like to get resollved for future purposes!

Thats what I did. I would literally need another 3/4" of clearance just so it didnt contact sitting still, and 1" or more with the engine vibrating. There is no discernable difference, and I see no reason for the brace... certainly not worth the headache of making it fit.

i agree ! its a tunnel brace , important to keep, do it right instead of having to rig it half ass over a couple dollars. i have a borla x pipe for sale, it fits w/no rubbing the brace.
