Same day, same car, same position but at a dealer with 63 allocations. Please don't hate me...

I'm trying to remain calm for now, but it's not easy. If their intention all along was to produce mostly V6s and just strung us SS buyers along, that means, as 2SSRS said, fbodfather greatly mislead us with the, "don't worry...we know what we're doing" response to our concern over the 80/20 split. And I will feel suckered, which don't make Runner a happy boy and just may put me along side Rogue in a Dodge dealer's showroom before long. :(

Maybe not, but no one ever mentioned that the SS was going to be a controlled car, a limited addition! What is with that? It seems that demand would dictate supply!

"I came out CONFIDENT we are better now than before, EVEN WITH the delay. I was impressed how they discussed the matter. I am confident all sold cars (within allocated guide number, and even beyond) will be done by Oct 2009. This was just more of a SOLID promise of what they've been saying all along.

NO ONE should have got an impression they would get a car by a certain time - that was never promised."

Its quite tempting that I could be crusing in a loaded R/T Challenger tomorrow...

V8's have always been constrained at a percentage of total production due to CAFE.

Yeah, and supply dictates money(at least in this case), which I am sure they would love to capitalize on the higher-priced V8's asap since they surely spend more R&D money on them.

Yeah, but we could have gained that much from stickers or neons easily, so who cares?

IMO, a one month delay for start of production is no big deal, would just give me more time to put a larger amount down.
Even the chance of waiting till October at the latest is not that bad, disappointing but not bad..
Even though that would be one year from when my pre-order was placed...

But a possible 1 YEAR delay due to small dealerships not getting a V8 allotment at all in 09?
That's just asking too much without even taking into consideration that I ALREADY traded in what was my second vehicle when I placed my order.

I had that thought off the bat. Just tired of getting lied to (maybe). Be real though, neither you in MD or I in NY are running to a Dodge dealer to buy a Challenger in the middle of the winter. It would be late April/May before I'd buy one anyways. So if the Camaro is April, May, or even June, is a month really going to kill either of us?

That may be true, but would the rules be in effect on like a per day basis, or say for that years production of the vehicle. Run the snot out of the V8's to get the pre-orders out by June / July. Then run all the V6's you want for the rest of the year for all we care lol.

Let's face it, Fbodfather has been our source for great information. He never did tell us, however, that the SS was going to be a controlled or limited edition car. He knew the majority of us were pre odering the SS. So, my question is why the heck did he not mention this to us?????? Could it be, all this BS is just that. BS? Or, this has come up without his blessing?? I think I will wait to hear from him just exactly what all this means. He has been the voice of reason on here and does not pull any punches. If we are going to have to wait on our SS, I am confident he will explain why.
